Pokémon Legends: Z-A General Discussion

View attachment 811028

Saw this on Twitter earlier and yes it is real (it's not actually the official guide though) and it's possibly the first time I genuinely hope Game Freak sues someone to hell and back
Wow that's an ugly ai mess.

Why are there ai knockoffs of Doduo (or Dodrio?) and Swablu (maybe?)? They aren't even in ZA. Also failed attempts at Taunie and no Urbain, as well as two equally wrong versions Chikorita despite the ai managing the significantly more complicated Totodile and Tepig decently. And then just red Rowlet with ears? Generic owl?

Why even ai generate the cover to begin with? If you're trying to trick people into buying your fake guide at least use the actual cover like nearly every guide ever. Especially when you're pretending to be official.

Also didn't even bother trying to make the Prism Tower, just plop the Eiffel Tower right in the middle there. Also why is there Shiny sparkles around everyone?

Also Swablu family is in ZA. Doduo isn't, wonder what a Mega Dodrio would even be like...

Honestly having looked at it for longer I think it might be Swablu/Articuno. Given the massive tail and the pose (body fully vertical with the wings spread wide and up is a really common pose for it).

Also Swablu family is in ZA.
I have no idea how I forgot that, it's blatantly obvious given Altaria has a Mega.

No one prominent used it so easily blends in (well Lebanne uses one but I think she'd rather eat her maid outfit than use a Mega Fairy-type, even if it is part Dragon-type)...

... What do you mean it was a Rogue Mega Pokemon? *Watches video* Wow, that was a nothing battle. At the very least have it scatter cotton puffs all over the field to slow you down!

local smeargles are fuming at this Porygon2-generated """art"""

Nah this is all Porygon-Z trying to interpret the prompt the best its mangled mind could. :boi:

Porygon2 would scour the internet for stock art and maybe even fan art and try to cobble them together in a sort of collage. It wants to be creative but its limited on what it can do such as drawing characters in a different pose. :row:

Porygon would just use the stock art. It'll also leave in any watermarks someone put over them if it didn't grab them from an official source. :regiF:

Rotom art would just be your prompt but worse or enhanced depending on how it feels about you (you literally carry it all the time its bound to hear your conversations and such.)

I did not actually check the garchomp zone's level until already comitting to the donut so it was very funny to get an hour in a zone to beat up a level 110 garchomp with my level 200 gardevoir

bit of a far cry from the struggles I went through on the other mega zones lol

Anyway I maintain this looks rad and is absolutely getting levitate in Champions. Also something I never noticed until now, mostly since you're virtually never hearing them back to back outside of like...this game due to the mega dex, is all the dual megas have different cries between each other. The Z megas in particular have a warble specific to them.

Reminder that as of this game Aromatisse and Slurpuff are now the only Kalos mons to never be used by a major NPC in any mainline game. What is going on lmao why do they keep getting the short end of the stick

Gets even funnier/more frustrating when you realize (spoilering just in case) Aromatisse would've fit really well for Jacinthe

Late response to this but I feel like this is intentional. I actually think Aromatisse and Slurpuff are intentionally designed to be the "common man's Fairy-types". They're not particularly strong statistically and don't have any remarkable traits, nor do they really stand out design wise. They're used by the lower level no name mooks among the SBC and common Trainers in just about every game they appear in. The other Fairy-types who were introduced/retconned in XY are more standout since Fairy is meant to be more of a standout type. Sylveon was the big new Eeveelution and was Valerie's ace, Florges was used by Tierno and is statistically really strong, Carbink and Klefki have interesting type combos and Carbink is tied to Diancie, Mega Gardevoir is Diantha's ace, etc.

Most Fairy-types are meant to be a notch above the rest but Aromatisse and Slurpuff...really aren't. Their designs are fairly unremarkable, their stats are okay but nothing worth noting, and they're only used by common Trainers. I think that's their main place in the Fairy-type roster and the whole reason they were created in the generation that introduced the Fairy-type. Basically to be those "com mons" of the type when everything else is more powerful or more unique, to be the common enemies that are used by common Trainers but are not good enough to be boss fights and arguably not good enough to want to be used by players.
