Pet Mod Mix and Mega: Limited Supply - Slate 1: Building Blocks

Approved by the PetMods council.
:sv/dragonite: Mix and Mega - Limited Supply :sv/altaria-mega:
I will get a nice banner here eventually. Probably. Will talk to the MnM folks about a proper endorsement.

Welcome to Mix and Mega - Limited Supply! This Spin-Off of Mix and Mega will be a Random Battles format with Megas and Movesets chosen by viewers like you!

For those of you unfamiliar, Mix and Mega works like the name implies: every Pokemon on your team can Mega Evolve, and they can all hold Mega Stones that they normally couldn't! These new Mega Pokemon gain the Mega Stone stats and ability based on what the original Mega Pokemon would gain. If the Mega Pokemon changes type, so does the Pokemon holding the Stone. For example:

:sv/altaria: -> :sv/altaria-mega:

75/70/90/70/105/80 -> 75/110/110/110/105/80 (+0/+40/+20/+40/+0/+0/+0)
Natural Cure -> Pixilate
Dragon/Flying -> Dragon/Fairy

:sv/dragonite: :sv/dragonite-mega:

Mega Dragonite (Dragonite @ Altarianite)
91/134/95/100/100/80 -> 91/174/115/140/100/80 (+0/+40/+20/+40/+0/+0/+0)
Multiscale -> Pixilate
Dragon/Flying -> Dragon/Fairy

For the details of the Mega Stones, check out the link below to see the Mix and Mega page where they are all listed. They will eventually be copied over to here. Mega Stones are not the only legal held items; Ogerpon Masks, Arceus Plates, and the Rusted Sword/Shield are also included. Each one has their own benefits and drawbacks.

Your submissions will need to be balanced for the meta around them. When you look at the list of Stones and Pokemon, the Mix and Mega tier has a banlist. For the most part, we will be working with that banlist. There will be some times where it is specified otherwise, but unless states, assume that the Pokemon you are making cannot hold a banned stone.

When building your submission's movesets, assume that they are using the SV movesets for moves available to them. Assume all moves are available to you unless stated otherwise. You may only submit a moveset of 4 moves. Since this is a RandBats format, assume that there will be a default neutral nature and balanced EV spread (pretty sure this is what ChatBats did but someone can feel free to correct me).

Final thing: depending on the Pokemon introduced, you do not always need to give the Pokemon a Mega Stone. Some of the Pokemon here (especially if we introduce Pokemon that are usually restricted from holding Mega Stones) may be able to run sets that don't have them Mega Evolve at all. Just remember the format we are playing in and the power level of the Pokemon involved.

Slate 1: Building Blocks

:sv/great tusk: :sv/dragonite: :sv/garganacl: :sv/raging bolt: :sv/pecharunt: :sv/heatran:
These six Pokemon are not only excellent OU Pokemon, but are also highly used in Mix and Mega. Beyond the usual Mix and Mega restrictions, the following additional rules are added.

:great tusk: - This Pokemon must remain a Ground/Fighting type.
:dragonite: - This Pokemon must NOT use the move Extreme Speed.

Both of these Pokemon will potentially be given another set in the future once more of the meta has settled into place, but these two restrictions should give them both some unique options to work with that go beyond their most defining sets.

One final rule: NO REPEAT STONES. Your submissions must all use unique Mega Stones. Considering the Pokemon we are working with this should not be a problem.

Submissions will be open for a week, or potentially longer if we want to give more time for people to get their thoughts in.

[Pokemon] @ [Held Mega Stone]
HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe (old) -> HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe (new)

Type 1/Type 2 (old) -> Type 1/Type 2 (new) [if applicable]

Dragonite @ Scizorite
Ability: Multiscale --> Technician
91/134/95/100/100/80 -> 91/154/135/110/120/90
- Dragon Dance
- Breaking Swipe
- Wing Attack
- Earthquake

Reasoning: When you can't profit off of fat E-Speeds, just resort to Scizorite! This stone allows Dragonite to actually use its STAB combination, with Breaking Swipe being both good STAB and additionally allowing it more setup leeway against physical attackers, and Wing Attack being a reliable and relatively strong Flying-Type move (a rarity these days). Quake is for coverage. Additionally, it gives Dragonite some surprisingly workable bulk, 91/135/120 is undeniably very useful for a setup sweeper like Dnite.

:garganacl: @ :chesnaughtite:
Garganacl @ Chesnaughtite
Ability: Purifying Salt ---> Bulletproof
100/100/130/45/90/35 -> 100/130/180/45/130/15
- Stealth Rock
- Salt Cure
- Block
- Recover

Reasoning: Ok, so this might seem like a bizarre choice, especially with the litany of other, good, if not BETTER defensive Mega Stones but it's a set I ran back when STABmons MnM was around, with minimal changes to surprisingly useful effect. The most important thing this Garg set does is trap other pivot-less hazard setters, set up your own hazards, and wittle them down with Salt Cure. It was also surprisingly useful when it came to tanking physical attacks despite the relatively lack-luster defensive typing. Bulletproof also gives this set a surprising amount of extra defensive utility when it comes to Ghosts or other mons who use such Bullet moves. including such moves as Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Pyro Ball, Sludge Bomb, the like.

Reasoning: mon that hits hard and consistently removes hazards. Very simple but specially frail. Note that spin being ice now affords tusk to run other moves, like knock

252 Atk Great Tusk Stomping Tantrum vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mew: 178-211 (44 - 52.2%) -- 16.8% chance to 2HKO

see its not that bad

Great Tusk @ Lopunnite
115/131/131/53/53/87 --> 115/191/141/53/53/117
Protosynthesis --> Scrappy
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner

Unblockable Spin, dual stabs, and ice spinner to hit flying types. Probably the best stone for tusk if a type change is out of the question, so it was pretty obvious to start here
:SV/dragonite: :diancie-mega:
Dragonite @ Diancite
91/134/95/100/100/80 --> 91/194/55/160/60/140
Multiscale --> Magic Bounce
- Dragon Dance
- Hurricane
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

… Just go first anyways. Mixed set with hurricane to make better use of the whole stone, as well as give it some decent flying stab and hit physically-bulky pokemon.
:SV/garganacl: :staraptor-mega:
Garganacl @ Staraptite
100/100/130/45/90/35 --> 100/120/160/55/120/45
Rock --> Fighting
Purifying Salt --> Intimidate
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Salt Cure
- Recover

STAB IDBP set with salt cure to handle bulky waters and ghost/steels that might show up later, as well as do literally anything against ghosts in general. Intimidate give garg here a lot of solid team support against physical attackers, and you can hold off on mega evolving to keep Psalt and handle status until you need him as a bulky wincon
:SV/raging-bolt: :lucario-mega:
Raging Bolt @ Lucarionite
125/73/91/137/89/75 --> 125/108/109/162/89/97
Protosynthesis --> Adaptability
- Thunderclap
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Draco Meteor

Yes, this one’s just a sample set, but thats the beauty of it. It literally just does what it normally does in Mix and Mega: Blows holes in the opponent’s defensive cores to let your sweepers shine through. Thunderclap also acts as an anti-sweeping tool, and volt switch is for momentum.
:SV/pecharunt: :chesnaught-mega:
Pecharunt @ Chesnaughtite
88/88/160/88/88/88 --> 88/118/210/88/128/68
Poison Puppeteer --> Bulletproof
- Malignant Chain
- Shadow Ball
- Parting Shot
- Recover

A ghost type with immunity to shadow ball is really, really good. I opted for a special set despite the attack boost since malignant chain’s 50% toxic chance is very strong, and also because it gets a whopping 6 physical moves. The -20 to speed also allows for slower pivots to safely bring in a teammate
:SV/heatran: :chimecho-mega:
Heatran @ Chimechite
91/90/106/130/106/77 --> 91/90/136/170/136/77
Flash Fire --> Levitate
- Magma Storm
- Stealth Rocks
- Earth Power
- Taunt

Being completely honest here this is just the OU sample set with chimechite instead of leftovers. Levitate is really nice to have, and you start with flash fire in case you want to delay mega evolving.

-Headlong Rush
-Rapid Spin
-Close Combat

Standard Tough Claws set :)

Dragonite @ Raichunite Y
91/134/95/100/100/80 (old) -> 91/144/95/170/100/120 (new)
Multiscale -> Surge Surfer (new)
Dragon/Flying (old)
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

When the Espeed is denied to you, in a world of bad physical STAB, sometimes you must look to the Special Attack Stat.

:sm/garganacl::sm/banette-mega:
Garganacl @ Banettite
100/100/130/45/90/35 (old) -> 100/150/140/55/110/45 (new)
Purifying Salt (old) -> Prankster (new)
Rock (old)
- Stealth Rock
- Salt Cure
- Recover
- Earthquake

A Prankster Stealth Rock set will work for the current, and you can always delay megaing as well.

Raging Bolt @ Pinsirite
125/73/91/137/89/75 (old) -> 125/103/111/147/109/95 (new)
Protosynthesis -> Aerilate
Electric/Dragon(old) -> Electric/Flying (new)
- Draco Meteor
- Hyper Voice
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Gives Raging Bolt a better defensive typing.

Heatran @ Absolite Z
91/90/106/130/106/77 (old) -> 91/114/106/130/106/153 (new)
Flash Fire -> Magic Bounce
Fire/Steel (old) -> Fire/Ghost (new)
- Stealth Rock
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse

A weird choice to be sure, but it gets rid of Heatran's 4x weakness to Ground and a lot of Levitate subs have been subbed already (for obvious reason). Keeps its relatively good statline otherwise and gets a huge boost in speed. Dark Pulse is for rival ghosts.

Pecharunt @ Wellspring Mask
88/88/160/88/88/88 (old) ->88/88/160/88/88/88 (unchanged)
Poison Puppeteer (old) -> Water Absorb (new)
Poison/Ghost (old) -> Poison/Water (new) [if applicable]
- Malignant Chain
- Recover
- Parting Shot
- Shadow Ball

Just focused on giving it a more defensive typing.

Oh boy I sure do love hazards. This is more of a standard Garganacl set with the added benefit of Toxic Debris. You could also provide a reason for Salt Cure being in this set, but you can only run four moves at a time...

Heatran @ Charizardite-Y
91/90/106/130/106/77 -> 91/110/106/180/136/77
Flash Fire -> Drought
Fire/Steel (no change)
-Fire Blast
-Solar Beam
-Flash Cannon
-Power Gem

Weather wars starting early. Solar Beam is an excellent coverage move to hit Waters that resist its STAB, and Power Gem hits the Fire mons that resist the other three, while also being good against Flying types. Relatively slow but good power and special bulk, and that Fire/Steel typing is still solid. Doesn't need to be Ground-immune because I imagine that with three Levitate Mega Stones in the format we will have a lot of Ground-immune mons making themselves known soon enough.

:dragonite: :magearna-mega:
Dragonite @ Magearnite
91/134/95/100/100/80 -> 91/164/95/140/100/110
Multiscale -> Soul Heart
Dragon/Flying (no change)
-Air Slash
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Agility

Special attacker Dragonite may not have been on your bingo cards but it can work well here. With a diverse Special movepool, it has multiple options to work with. For this set (due to there bein another Fire and Dragon in this batch) BoltBeam + Flying STAB makes for a solid combination, hitting almost everything for at least neutral damage. Getting that Special Attack boost with every knockout gives this a surprisingly solid setup opportunity.

Pecharunt @ Latiosite
88/88/160/88/88/88 -> 88/128/180/118/98/88
Poison Puppeteer -> Levitate
Poison/Ghost (no change)
-Gunk Shot
-Poltergeist
-Recover
-Parting Shot

The unexpected physical version of Levitate Pecharunt. Gunk Shot and Poltergiest have a higher BP so why not take advantage of them? While Chimechite is a popular set to run on Pecharunt these days, maintaining its Ghost typing allows it to block Rapid Spin, while also being resistant to Scrappy Fighting moves, and not 4x weak to Mold Breaker Ground moves. Basically an excellent counter to most Great Tusk sets and a solid Pokemon in general.

Purifying Salt -> Magic Bounce
Rock (no change)
-Stealth Rock
-Body Press
-Salt Cure
-Recover

Solid MBounce user. Protects your team from hazards and status, while retaliating with your own hazards and passive damage. Fairly straightforward set, with a Speed stat so low you are probably always going last.

Great Tusk @ Crabominite
115/131/131/53/53/87 -> 115/156/176/53/93/77
Protosynthesis -> Hyper Cutter
Ground/Fighting (no change)
-Rapid Spin
-Body Press
-High Horsepower
-Bulk Up

Unorthodox set that works perfectly for for this mon. Mega Stone only gives stat points where they are needed, giving a surprising amount of Special bulk. Hyper Cutter protects you from Intimidate and Parting Shot attack drops, and the solid Attack and Defense make the Bulk Up sets really solid. Rapid Spin for utility is basically mandatory.

Raging Bolt @ Altarianite

Protosynthesis -> Pixilate
Electric/Dragon -> Electric/Fairy
-Calm Mind
-Thunder Clap
-Hyper Voice
-Volt Switch

Electric/Dragon may be a decent typing, but Electric/Fairy is an upgrade. Rest of the moves are self-explanatory, with Pixilate Hyper Voice being an excellent source of damage.

With smack down your two stabs hit most things for powerful damage. Very strong, even max def arc can be 2hkoed after rocks

Fires and steels don't want to come in because salt cure and poisons fear salt cure + a lot of them are neutral to booms. So alt garg is a really good lure to easily eliminate something like zama, pult, barra etc.

Ability: Poison Puppeteer -> Levitate
Poison/Ghost -> Poison/Steel
- Malignant Chain
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Nasty Plot

I'm putting this one at the top since it's by far my favorite. Chimechite makes Pecharunt even bulkier through type, ability, and stats, while also bolstering their offense. Poison and steel is an amazing defensive typing with only two weaknesses, and Levitate removes one of them. This makes way for a perfect setup sweeper who can set up in front of just about anyone. While you do lose out on stab with Shadow Ball, Pecharunt lacks any coverage and as such Shadow Ball is a necessity.

Ability: Protosynthesis -> Magic Bounce
- Earthquake
- Body Press
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Lopunnite is the perfect mega stone for Great Tusk, but was already submitted by Crep50. This is the next best thing I could come up with. Sablenite makes Great Tusk absurdly bulky, which also boosts the power of Body Press. Magic Bounce allows Tusk to deny hazards without needing Rapid Spin, while they're able to set up their own. Knock Off removes Heavy-Duty Boots from anyone holding them, while also hitting ghost types for decent damage even if holding a mega stone. If Rapid Spin is still desired despite the new ability, swap out Earthquake for it.

Dragonite @ Aggronite
91/134/95/100/100/80 -> 91/164/145/100/120/80
Ability: Multiscale -> Filter
Dragon/Flying -> Dragon/Steel
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Roost
- Dragon Dance

It's hard to make an already great Pokémon better, especially without Extreme Speed access—one of Dragonite's defining moves. Aggronite leans into Dragonite's already great nautural bulk and provides great type synergy, especially when compared to pre mega evolution. Dragon and flying is weak to dragon, fairy, ice, and rock, which dragon and steel is hit neutral or not very effective by. Dragon and steel is weak to ground and fighting, which dragon and flying resists. Filter and the extra defense and special defense from mega evolving makes Dragonite even bulkier, and Roost supplements this bulk further. The move also works when not mega evolved because of Multiscale. Added attack is a nice benefit though not the main point of Aggronite.

Garganacl @ Altarianite

Ability: Purifying Salt -> Pixilate
Rock -> Rock/Fairy
- Body Slam
- Salt Cure
- Recover
- Stealth Rock

adriancosmoem already made a similar concept, but this one is less offensive and more utility based. Fairy and rock is a strong defensive type, and while Altarianite has minimal boosts to defense it is more than made up for by the added fairy type and strong ability in Pixilate. Pixilate makes Body Press become stab, and with the added attack from the mega stone allows for Garganacl to become a bulky attacker capable of spreading paralysis and wearing down foes with Salt Cure. Recover allows for Garganacl to sit around longer, while Stealth Rock adds great utility.

Raging Bolt @ Manectite

Ability: Protosynthesis -> Intimidate
- Thunderbolt
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderclap
- Volt Switch

Raging Bolt is an already amazing Pokémon so there's not much that needs changing. Manectite turns them into an even better pivot thanks the added bulk the stone provides, and access to the amazing ability Intimidate. This Pokémon can easily spam Draco Meteor and then Volt Switch, making them an appreciated addition to any team. Thunderclap priority is nice too.

Heatran @ Garchompite Z
91/90/106/130/106/77 -> 91/90/96/191/106/126
Ability: Flash Fire -> Sand Force
Fire/Steel -> Fire/Dragon
- Magma Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Will-O-Wisp

Garchompite Z turns Heatran from a slow, bulky utility, into a fast special attacking powerhouse. 191 base special attack and 126 base speed are nothing to scoff at, and fire, dragon, and ground has amazing offensive type coverage. Will-O-Wisp allows you to cripple physical attackers before they move thanks to the improved speed. Sand Force is unfortunately a poor ability, though I presume this will likely be a lot better once we find out Mega Garchomp Z's ability in Pokémon Champions.

Dragonite @ Heracronite
91/134/95/100/100/80 -> 91/194/135/100/110/70
Multiscale
-> Skill Link
- Dragon Dance
- Scale Shot
- Fire Punch
- Roost

The most underrated set in OU for Dragonite is definitely Scale Shot. So I decided, what the hell, what happens if we bring this bad boy here? The magic happens. Dragonite sets up DD, and just cleans the metagame with Scale Shot with a threatening 125 BP. Look out for priority though.
