Welcome to the Gen 9 Random Battles Swiss!

Rules
This is a Generation 9 Random Battle tournament
Matches in Swiss rounds are Best-of-Three (first to two (2) wins)
We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines
We recommend games are played on the main Pokemon Showdown server. Smogtours is allowed, but if players can’t agree on a server, main is the default option
Activity Rules - PLEASE READ
In order to schedule with your opponent, please follow the scheduling guidelines!​
  • Scheduling for this tournament must be done publicly on Smogon Walls. If hosts cannot see evidence of scheduling, you may be incorrectly seen as inactive.
  • On Friday, March 20th, Hosts will be checking for scheduling attempts by all players. An Inactive Player List of people who hosts could not find any evidence of scheduling (no matter how small) will then be posted in this thread, and all players on the list will be tagged. This tag serves as a reminder to schedule and play your game.
  • Any player who receives an activity loss will be automatically dropped out from the tournament at the end of the week.
  • If you are automatically dropped and wish to keep playing, it is YOUR responsibility to contact hosts saying you wish to stay in the tournament BEFORE the next round is posted. There is no penalty for asking to stay in, and no reason is needed. Any contact method is allowed, however posting in this thread is recommended.
  • Extensions will only be granted under the most extreme circumstances. Even a single extension requires significant admin overhead, and the amount of extra work required to keep the tournament fair for all players is exponential with each new extension added. As a result, unless your appeal for an extension is particularly strong, your game will be declared a double loss. Due to this risk, we highly recommend you schedule early, and make every effort to play, even if it isn't at an ideal time.
    In order for your extension to be granted, you must make a post requesting an extension. In the request, you must include the time your game will be played.
    Once your post has been made, your opponent must reply to your post confirming they agree to play at the requested time.
    Hosts may still reject your request if they are not fully confident the game will be played, or if another extension request has already been granted.
  • Games with insufficient scheduling will NOT be coinflipped. If you fail to play during a given week and your scheduling/activity is found to be lackluster, you will either receive an activity loss or the match will be declared as a double loss: this means nobody wins, and nobody gets points. It is also quite likely you will be dropped out in the process. Coinflips will be seen as an absolute last resort in cases where players put in their best possible effort to play but had complete incompatibility with one another's schedules.
It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “[Gen 9] Random Battle”. Make sure to upload your replays between games
3. The first player to 2 wins is the winner! Post in the thread with the replays of your games, and you’ll be awarded the win
4. Win or lose, you’re still in the tournament, so get yourself ready for next week, where you’ll get a new opponent battle!
In addition to the automatic drops as seen above, players may choose to voluntarily drop out at any time. If you don’t want to be in the tournament, simply post in this thread asking to be dropped and we will remove you from all future rounds. If you change your mind, post again asking to be reinstated – don’t just delete your drop post[/SIZE]
If you want to join in on the fun, but didn’t sign up in time, that’s okay! Post in this thread asking to be signed up and we will put you in the next round! Unfortunately we can’t give you an opponent this week, which means you will enter the tournament with a de-facto loss in rounds 1 and 2.

just going to officially contest this act call.

If Player A and Player B agreed on a time, and Player B failed to show up, Player A must have checked in via the same medium used to schedule, citing the server and PS name, if different from forum username. They must have waited for at least 15 minutes before leaving. If Player B communicated their delay, this period may be extended to up to 30 minutes

They did not check in on smogon where we scheduled and therefore the act is void. They have also stated a lot of availability for the week and hence, we should still be able to play the set before sunday.
