Probably. Maybe it’s a buffed version of Magic Guard. Magic Guard being there to work with its signature move.Floette-E, probably more than any other mon, is extremely likely to get a brand new ability for its Mega.

Ah, I had forgotten. I suppose there could be even more incentive to hide the abilities of the new Megas in the HOME Dex if they're not all planned to be programmed into Champions from the start (e.g. new Megas for legendaries and mythicals). When L:A got added in we didn't get to see any of the non-L:A data for the new Pokemon and moves, so while I imagine that as the lead up to Champions that information would be here there is technically a shot there just isn't.
if your wincon is having your special attacker deal big damage, if it gets frostbitten, you lost the game just as hard as if you get frozen and don't thaw
i think really this is just "what feels worse" and honestly to me being frozen is not as bad because at least the game won't be pretended to be in my hands
like i am talking vgc where if you bring two support pokemon to setup attacker 1 and maybe attacker 2, if attacker 1 is now doing nothing most of the time you just lost the game. if a support mon got frostbitten that is likely an upgrade from freeze, but if its the right target its also auto lose tbh
even in 6v6 singles to be honest if like your special breaker into fat just got frostbitten its also gg most of the time, actually more than freeze, because often you can generate free turns to try to thaw and then your main timer is hazards
this would be now my dragapult in swsh's shadow ball does like 18% to spdef lando t with leftovers thats game, part of why spatk breakers are so good into fat is there are less ways to just neuter them for the rest of the game and not have to worry about them switching into any of the 20,000 scald / wisp mons and being neutered the rest of the game
i am a certified scald spammer enjoyer and i can guarantee if there is any move above a 10% chance to spread frostbite i am staying in with my fatmon on tapu lele and taking the risks because that's a 20% chance to win on the spot, knowing i already got shit like toxapex that can live a lando t earthquake easily and then go for a scald and try to burn that too lol
freeze is not that because if they get a turn pattern where they can try and use a move again and i have to switch or lose 10% of the time, which with some special breakers is really not that hard, they do have a 10% chance to negate that advantage. whereas if they are frostbitten i will lowkey switch toxapex into psychic terrain tapu lele because i will recover off with regenerator with some sets
252+ SpA Tapu Lele Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex in Psychic Terrain: 200-236 (66 - 77.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
half that - thats literally just the cost of doing business regen W
i'll be the menace that plays to an endgame where you cannot break my regen mons i'm the person you don't want enabled by frostbite, i know how broken burn can be, i don't think you want it but for the other side
yall are not ready for the degen gameplay that frostbite will enable and i lowkey am starting to think its a lack of imagination versus knowing how cringe freeze is
yes freeze feels bad but also playing around it is genuinely like not the play 99% of the time, playing around frostbite genuinely will be the play like, a looot more of the time, because the reward is actually significantly higher for fat teams (which hey thats me thats me i love fat teams do not buff me btw) given people aren't running heal bell shit
i think you could argue freeze is a bigger deal for offense vs offense matches on average, but i still think frostbite is pretty much as bad most of the time, sometimes in offense a burnt mon is just giving the other mon free turns to setup which can end games
One last thing I want to point out, Wolfe, among many other competitive players do the hunting by themselves or with a group. In his EUIC video I believe, he mentions spending an entire day getting his 3DS by himself and hunting for the perfect Gothitelle, and he messed up twice while doing so. It's not like he has people do it for him; he gets gifts, yes. He gets help, yes, but he does lots if not most of the work too. That's why Ck49 uploaded a video about how he's excited IVs are being removed: because the person who spent the time looking for that perfect Ursaluna is probably the same one who has to also use it at the top level. The problem with Wolfe, VGC players, and most people who play cart is that specific iv numbers was almost impossible to get. Even with a hacked ditto its tough, and good luck with legendaries. Yes, it is to take advantage of the mindset of 0 or 31 being the norm, however the process of even obtaining it is not realistic, the person who soft reset LEGITIMATE 0 attack 0 speed blood moon ursaluna probably damaged his vision more than the guy who showcased how much "skill" they have.
Technically 'stat points' have a slight difference to EVs in that 66 total stat points allow you to invest 32/32/2, where you would normally have room for 252/252/4 -> 32/32/1 if invested in 3 stats. But otherwise I agree you can just think of it as generally +1 to a stat that fits in the normal EV cap.later in the trailer it steps through Dragonite applying its SP to max out ATtack
0 - 169 (Atk nature)
1 - 170
2 - 171
3 - 172
4 - 173
5 - 174 (it faded in so i had to frame by frame this, didnt seem to be 175)
[faded]
25 - 196 (equivalent to 196 or 200 EVs)
26 - 198 (you can recreate this 2 point jump by going from 200 to 204)
27 - 199
28 - 200
29 - 201
30 - 202
31 - 203
32 - 204 (equivalent to modern 31 IV, 252 EV +Atk Dragonite)
I dunno seems like it is just EVs usual system of stat application, just simplified to 32 points.
Of the abilities?can someone sum up the leaks
Of the abilities?

Checking this was put out a day before the trailer that showed off the abilities of the 2 starters?Of the abilities?

Personally that timing and knowing that sometimes people get to see trailers early, does make me think they might have gotten actual early information of the trailer and then just made up the rest, with Froslass just being a good guess.
if real I would love to know the source that this was for them since it manages to swing wildly between exact details and naming and "i dunno staraptor had its stats raised" and "unknown but not new" and "prankster was mentioned"
It came from a Chinese forum from someone who was working on localisation (to Chinese). I think in most cases they only translate parts? So maybe translating some marketing material or w/e that showed Staraptor’s attack being raised by Intimidate but nothing else regarding the actual ability.I don't give this one credit for Froslass because I've seen conflicting claims that the leak said Snow Cloak or even Snowscape, and no one has brought up what the original Chinese text says which has since been deleted.
This source is the only one I found so far that supposedly links the original tieba post and it says "Froslass: Snowcape".
https://universonintendo.com/rumor-...a-para-pokemon-champions-teriam-sido-vazadas/
My point is that we can't tell which is the "correct" translation, because nobody has posted the source text so the whole thing is still in question.Re: Froslass, I think it’s just a translation thing. I think that’s people mistranslating the original post is where Snow Cloack came from since that was corrected pretty quickly. The leaker themselves confusing Snowscape and Snow Warning isn’t too crazy.
i'd say theoretically it was during the creator previews - except that wolfey specifically said he was unable to find out mega feraligatr's ability and most of the megas straight up weren't available in the demo lolChecking this was put out a day before the trailer that showed off the abilities of the 2 starters?

It's gonna be called Ange or somethingFloette-E, probably more than any other mon, is extremely likely to get a brand new ability for its Mega.

This feels especially ironic when Champions in theory would have been the game to make that kind of granular adjustment easier/more accessible, vs playing the game with that tinkering for over a Decade and a half only to remove it in the Game/App specifically dedicated to that section of the player baseThe thing is that those were *extremely* minor adjustments, that you'd often just do to avoid 50/50s. Even at your loss (es he mentioned making his Incineroar have imperfect IVs to underspeed under TR, but at same time that put it at disadvantage againts other ones outside of it).
I am quite confident there isn't a single VGC player who will be sad about IVs being gone. It's simply less grinding, less boring repetitive tasks to perform in game, and less reason to pkhex your pokemon to perfect stats.
Eh, you're not wrong, but I agree with whoever was that said that once you turn both IV and EV into a slider... they're basically the same slider. This feels especially ironic when Champions in theory would have been the game to make that kind of granular adjustment easier/more accessible, vs playing the game with that tinkering for over a Decade and a half only to remove it in the Game/App specifically dedicated to that section of the player base
