Stats: 75/90/70/40/75/125 (475)
Movepool Changes: (Based on Gen 7 movepool, dunno if i have to go with BDSP movepool or Gen 7) +Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Sludge, Close Combat, Pest Spread

Signature Move: Pest Spread
100BP | 100% Acc | 16 PP | Poison | Physical
If the opponent is hit by the move, they become the same type as the user
Description: Gets good Atk and a big Spd stat, as well as secondary Poison STAB, it doesnt have the best offensive type, but that is fixed by its signature move, which it can spam to make most mons that would switch on it neutral to Facade, which when STAB + Guts boosted hits like a truck, and combined with its speed, access to U-Turn, which it can use in conjunction to Pest Spread to switch in allies that take advantage of that type, as well as good coverage in Close Combat for Steel types, Crunch and Wild Charge, Taunt for utility, as well as since it has Guts, be a good status absorber, makes this an amazing Wallbreaker, balanced out by a bad defensive typing, horrible defenses, which in combined with the Burn chip, makes it hard to keep alive, and gets completely checked by any Steel type that can deal with CC

Wowee. We are Pet Mod of the Month.

Quick Balance Changes:

Terastalization: BANNED

Shit is banned in NatDex, and as we are NatDex, we will be banning it here. I also am not assigning Tera Types to 70 pokemon for randbats. I'm sorry.

:onix: Excavate - On switchin, this Pokemon removes Stealth Rock and Spikes from the user's side, and raises its Defense by 1 for each hazard removed in this way. Once per game.

Auto-hazard-removal is entirely too strong, even on a "weaker" pokemon like Onix.

:flareon: + Sucker Punch

It's not actually supposed to have it but I think its actually kinda epic. Keeping it. LOL

Slate 10:
Weak Pokemon who were kinda just left as is and never got changed ever ig
:ss/tangela::ss/golbat::ss/lickitung:
:brambleghast::glimmora::grafaiai:
Can't believe these fully evolved Pokemon were never buffed! Luckily, we have the opportunity to reinterpret these classic shitters!

:Tangela: Tangela (Brambleghast)
  • Must have exactly ONE signature ability (like Wind Rider)
:golbat: Golbat (Glimmora)
  • Must have exactly ONE signature ability (like Toxic Debris)
  • Must have exactly ONE signature move (like Mortal Spin)
:lickitung: Lickitung (Grafaiai)
  • Must have exactly ONE signature move (like Doodle)

Things to note:
  • Power: As stated above, the Pokemon slated are very weak. Adjust accordingly.
  • BST: You do not have to stick with the BST of the original Pokemon.
  • Eviolite: None of these guys are Eviolite compatible; they're fully evolved!

One week to make submissions (4/10). It's been a while so please review the rules in the OP. Have fun!

Pokemon: Tangela
Counterpart: Brambleghast
Type: Grass/Ghost
Ability: Tangling Hair / Wrap Up / Chlorophyll
[When hit with a physical attack, Applies leech seed and the jaw lock effect]
Stats: 105/100/115/100/60/60
Movepool Adjustments: Shadow Ball, Earthquake, Weather Ball, Poltergeist
Reasoning: I am a simple being. I don’t like the ultra pivot move and I think a good ground resist would be nice. Looked again. Why are there so MANY pivot moves.

Terastalization: BANNED
Small thing to bring up!
In case anyone likes Tera, once this gets implemented, you can still do this if you want:

/chall gen9regeneration @@@ ! Terastal Clause

I like having the option in friendly matches!
I can understand banning it by default though P:

:flareon: + Sucker Punch

It's not actually supposed to have it but I think its actually kinda epic. Keeping it. LOL
Movepool Changes:
Flareon gains Crunch, Flare Out, Play Rough, Psychic Fangs and Sucker Punch
zxg I can't believe you would go back in time and edit my submission post like this
you even hacked into my phone and added Sucker Punch to my teams from 2023... how could you

ahem sorry uh--
NICE welcome back!!! : D I love this mod
I will probably try and sub for this slate at some point (no promises though I haven't done this in a while jshfmfn)

[When hit with a physical attack, Applies leech seed and the jaw lock effect]

[...]

I am a simple being. I don’t like the ultra pivot move and I think a good ground resist would be nice. Looked again. Why are there so MANY pivot moves.
Small heads-up: Jaw Lock and other trapping doesn't prevent pivoting moves, only manual switching - so if your Ability works as written, it essentially punishes every physical move except pivoting moves and does absolutely nothing to Pokémon that pivot out.
You might want to revise the effect with that in mind!

It's really easy to code an Ability that just removes the pivoting effects from moves, though (example: code for Alluring from M4A).
It could be cool to combine that effect with inflicting Leech Seed on physical attackers like you have - that way, you're not only denying momentum on one turn but directly pressuring the opponent to hard-switch on the next turn.
I think that might be more fun! I'm a little worried about it being kinda toxic to be able to switch in and inflict Jaw Lock any time, so I would be inclined to move it in this direction myself.
(alternatively: if you're worried about Flareon specifically, you could also go full Queenly Majesty/Dazzling with "opposing Pokémon can't use pivoting moves" and get immunity to its main Fire STAB!)

Tangela
Type
:
Ground.png

Abilities: Chlorophyll / Tangled Feet | HA: Tangling Vines*
*Making Contact with user prevents them from switching out, and harshly lowers speed.
Stats: 65 | 50 | 135 | 115 | 75 | 60 [BST: 500]
Movepool Changes: +Strength Sap, Rapid Spin, Muddy Water, Mud Shot
Description: Tangela is a swamp vine that drains the strength of things that get caught in its body for sustenance. With that in mind, now Tangela serves as the defacto bulky Ground resist for the metagame, in a metagame where bulky Ground resists are next to nowhere since many of the Grasses are part Poison. Rapid Spin also gives it a solid niche as hazard removal as well. Muddy Water and Mud Shot are funny coverage option. Tangling Vines can trap targets which you can then utilize with Leech Seed and Toxic to wear down threats.

Whenever Lickitung comes across something new, it will unfailingly give it a lick. It does so because it memorizes things by texture and by taste. It is somewhat put off by sour things.

:lickitung: Lickitung

Type: Normal
Stat Changes: 110 HP (+20) / 90 Attack (+35) / 75 Defense / 80 Sp. Atk (+20) / 75 Sp. Def / 55 Speed (+25) // 485 BST
Abilities:
Analytic (replaces Own Tempo)
Oblivious
(Hidden) Immunity (replaces Cloud Nine)
Movepool Changes: +Taste Test, +Strength Sap, +Sucker Punch

Taste Test (Normal) || Physical || 75 BP / 100% acc / 20 (32) PP
The user reaches out with its long tongue to lick the target, lowering the target's Speed stat.
For the rest of the battle, the user's moves are more powerful against the licked target.
(makes contact; boosts the power of all subsequent moves by 1.5x, but only against targets the Pokémon has licked;
the effect doesn't stack if you use it more than once on the same target, but it can be applied to any number of targets over the course of the battle)

(first of all: I can code this myself if needed! so don't worry about that)

Uhhh...? Yeah, I dunno if this is anything, but--

- I kinda started from the flavor concept because of the dex entry at the top - obviously Lickitung's signature move would have to be something it did with its tongue, so I thought it would be cute and on-theme if I could reward Lickitung for licking every opponent once and make an actual mechanic out of it "memorizing" the targets it licks.
The sub as a whole is basically about tagging as much of the opponent's team as possible - in this case, that also means it needs to be able to pressure tagged opponents to switch out so it can keep licking more of the opposing team, but it also needs survivability to spare the turns on Taste Test.

- Flavorfully, the Speed debuff on Taste Test is because Lickitung's tongue is so gooey and sticky, but it's also a good way to pressure opponents to leave the field, since they're unlikely to want to take a Taste Test-boosted followup attack.
- Of course, Lickitung is pretty slow to begin with, but an offensive set could choose to invest in Speed and end up outpacing Pokémon all the way up to base 107 once they're at -1 - or it could go all-in on bulk, trade hits and heal off with Strength Sap or Wish instead.

- Lickitung has pretty efficient coverage - there are already next to no Normal resists in this metagame (only Rock-types, Magneton and Gengar right now, and Gengar is frail), so it basically just needs Earthquake. I think it should be easy for it to justify a set with Taste Test, Double-Edge, Earthquake and your choice of Strength Sap/Wish/Knock Off/Sucker Punch, for instance. Bulkier sets can run Body Slam instead of Double-Edge, and it also has Swords Dance access if it wants it!
- Its unboosted offenses are on the low side, but it can run Analytic to get around that, and that even stacks with Taste Test so it has pseudo-Stakeout if the same thing tries to answer it twice.

- As an alternative to Analytic, you can choose to run a much bulkier Lickitung set and give it Immunity.
I think this makes sense because Lickitung licks everything and I'm sure it would have stopped doing that by now if it often got sick from it
Between this and its recovery options, it can probably survive long enough to tag more of the opponent's team with Taste Test and end up exerting offensive pressure long-term.

- In the short term, Taste Test sounds kinda weak - compared to a setup move, it only works on one target at a time, and the boost is only 1.5x compared to Lickitung's Swords Dance.
The thing that makes it interesting in my opinion is that unlike Swords Dance, it doesn't matter if Lickitung gets forced out afterwards, or even if the target switches out: once you've tagged a Pokémon with it, Lickitung can keep threatening it with boosted moves for the rest of the game, which gradually whittles down its list of defensive answers over the course of battle.
Lickitung is definitely too slow to feel like a good Swords Dancer, so I think it should be cool to have an alternative that works with it long-term as a bulky wallbreaker! It might take some support to get going, but I think it could be kinda fun to build around and very unique in how it exerts long-term pressure?
- edit: I have provisionally buffed the BP of Taste Test from 60 to 75 on zxg's advice! With that in mind, it's a lot safer to keep clicking - it ends up at 112.5 BP (146.25 if it also has an Analytic boost) on a target that has already been licked, so it's a lot freer to keep trying to tag the whole opposing team, with or without mixing in your stronger moves.

I dunno!! It's definitely a weird sub and I dunno how it'll play out in practice, but I think it would bring something cool to the mod and I hope people think it's worth a shot!

edit: buffed Taste Test BP!
