Welcome to Smogon VGC’s Swiss Tournament! This tournament will award points towards the 2025-2026 VGC Circuit, which awards a prize banner and custom avatar to the winner of the entire circuit. If you win the Swiss tournament itself, you will also get the "hall of fame" role in the official Smogon VGC Discord!

SPECIFIC RULES

  • This tournament will be played in VGC 2026 Regulation I
  • This tournament will be in Swiss
    • Each week you will be paired against a player with your same record. This process will repeat for 8 rounds before moving on to a top cut for all records 6-2 or better.
  • Every match will be in Best of Three, please use the built-in bo3 available when challenging.
  • We suggest to play your matches on Pokémon Showdown!, but playing on cartridge is allowed as long as both players agree and replays are provided.
  • Replays are required for all matches. If neither player posts replays of the match, both players will suffer an automatic game loss. (If you were in losers' when you played, you are both out. If you were in winners', the winner is in losers' and the loser is out.)
  • Do not sign up with more than one account, as it is not only considered cheating but also because it goes against Smogon’s rules to create more than one account.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification and additional punishments may be applied if deemed necessary.
  • Cheating includes, but is not limited.
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player
    • Forcing deadgames and activity wins

Standard VGC Rules and Clauses

  • Team Lock Clause: Players must use the same team for all battles of a given round. You can switch teams in between rounds, however.
  • Item Clause: Players cannot have two of the same item on the same team.
  • Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
  • Matches will be played at level 50.

I apologize greatly for this taking an entire extra week to happen. I had a pretty serious medical emergency happen to me this week, and while I generally try to communicate and get someone to take over in the event that I would be unable to get a round posted, I was barely conscious for about three and a half days, so the thought of getting on my laptop and thinking about a smogon tournament was not really on my mind. I hope those of you competing in top cut will forgive me for the hold up, and I wish you all good luck as we finish out the tour.
