[SET COMMENTS]
Wynaut's combination of Encore + Shadow Tag coupled with its natural bulk ensures that both Counter and Mirror Coat will almost always KO the opposing Pokemon, allowing it to switch into and trap many defensive threats such as Munchlax, Ferroseed, and Mareanie and shut them down with a status move or remove them for a teammate. Wynaut is also able to trap offensive threats such as Timburr and Galarian Ponyta and take them down with relative ease. If Wynaut has accomplished its function by trapping the desired Pokemon, Destiny Bond allows Wynaut to take another Pokemon down with it. The given EV spread allows Wynaut to outspeed as many threats as possible and increase its natural bulk further; Berry Juice is mandatory, as Wynaut lacks any means of recovery.

Many offensive Pokemon appreciate Wynaut's ability to trap bulky Pokemon, especially setup sweepers such as Quiver Dance Cutiefly, Dragon Dance Onix, and Swords Dance Corphish, which, in return, threaten Vullaby and Drifloon for Wynaut. Pivots such as Chinchou and Vullaby allow Wynaut to safely switch into certain threats that it would otherwise not be able to switch into thanks to Volt Switch and U-turn, respectively. The main weaknesses for Wynaut are a lack of recovery, which means it should not fight any Knock Off user bar Ferroseed, as well as being dead weight against Dark-types such as Vullaby and Pawniard and Ghost-types like Drifloon. To patch those issues, Fighting-types such as Timburr and Galarian Farfetch'd can threaten out the aforementioned Pokemon, while bulkier Pokemon such as Spritzee and Mareanie can take on Knock Off users like Galarian Farfetch'd and Vullaby for Wynaut.

Don't think Charm is worthwhile on this set, Encore provides enough of a setup opportunity for teammates on its own and Destiny Bond is incredibly useful, particularly when paired with Encore. As such, remove the mentions of Charm in the set comments.

Wynaut really shouldn't be fighting any Knock Off users besides Ferroseed, would recommend changing Knock Off absorbers to a more general Dark-type check.

Good job, 1/2

que honda
  • you didn’t implement Merritt’s last point about Knock Off absorbers; you should do so
  • the first sentence of the second paragraph should be two sentences. the first is about set-up sweepers and is good, the second is about pivots and should mention: 1) the word pivot in place of “pokemon able to maintain momentum” and 2) the moves u-turn and volt switch
2/2
