  • Well, it's not a big deal. I have a .sav of it in some folder and I did a soft reset earlier anyway and the file turned up fine.
I don't know what you're referring to when you say "battery folder." I don't see anything named it, at least.
It's version 1.7.2. And I access its folder from a crowded folder but the program itself is alone.
Yep, I got it! I screwed it up again, but then decided to use the "Disable Cheats" option before starting the game. It worked! I loaded my file to Enciclopedia Pokemon and I had my SID right. And when I un-checked "Disable Cheats" and caught a Pokemon, it still had my TID as its ID. So, I'm free of the curse forever! Thanks again!

Although there is one minor thing. I remember at some point in this mess I had done a soft-reset and I got back to my menu to find only the New Game option. I hadn't deleted it AFAIK, and I *had* done an ingame save. Fortunately I had savestates, but still, what do you think I did wrong there?
For whenever you feel like searching again (I'm certain it will work this time, since the cheats were gone before I started the file and have remained gone):

    TID: 15266
    Address at savestate: 2E7E0B12
    PID of eventual Pokemon: 76CE7180
Thanks, but I think we're going to have to start all over and get a new TID :/ I did some experimenting, and found that even if I delete the codes the very instant my savestate is loaded (the one with 4FC148E5) it is STILL too late; the code has already poisoned the game. I think I'm going to have to turn the game off and do this again.

If you don't want to go through this again, I understand. Now that I know what I'm doing, though, it shouldn't take very long. I'll just get my TID + memory address for the new place, and you already have the details of the PID I want to get eventually. Would you be willing to do this one more time?
The code was already on before I started any of this (I put it in like a day ago). So yes I think I did save after it was done. What happens if I resume my savestate and RNG it again; can I save over my old file ingame? And can you explain to me how Enciclopedia Pokemon works? I can't seem to figure it out.
I think I may have done something bad >.> In order to quickly find my SID I had put in a code to let me see my SID through where my TID would be in my starter's summary. However, now the Pokemon permanently has my SID as its ID! Not only that, all Pokemon I capture get the SID as their ID too, and that's even when I've removed the cheats from the game totally. Should I resume from my savestate I made right before the SID creation moment WITHOUT using the code this time, and just load it to Enciclopedia Pokemon or whatever it is?
Yes! It worked! TID 12414 SID 14132!

Thank you so much for all your help; I really am truly grateful. If I ever end up completing my 64 ribbon Latios be sure it'll be coming your way!

Silly question: When I save ingame, it actually does save, right? I ask because I've done emulators before that didn't actually save their games via ingame.

Another silly question: Is there a way to back up my Emerald save on a disc or card? I don't completely trust my computer not to crash and I don't want to be nervous the whole time I'm playing through that I could lose it all suddenly.
Okay, thanks. So how do I find out how many advances to do based on what I know in memory viewer? (Or is that something that will be apparent in the email?)
I did what you described and paused it probably about ~30 frames from whatever the target is. (it was half a second to the best of my memory)
I think I understand that all. I pause it before it hits and then I can just hit Next Frame until I get to the target frame?

    My email: mahercp@millsaps.edu
I think I have a better number this time. This time, I paused the game first THEN savestated, so the game isn't going on during the space of time when I save it and when I go over to memory viewer. Anyway, the number you should use is 17B38FA7.
The number on the left (Just right of the where the number you told me to punch in appears on the graph; I assume that's what you meant) is 4FC148E5.

When I saved the savestate I let the game go on a couple seconds before I paused it. Then I hit F4, where I'd put my savestate. The screen looks the same; is that because it didn't really load, or just because the savestate and the paused game look exactly the same?
I've savestated in the right place, but I don't know how to find what my PRNG state is.
It's good to see you on again. Thank you again for your help so far.

I haven't been able to find the program you've mentioned, so is there any way you could still figure some of the information out for me?
You guess? D: That's not super awesome happy fun times! :(

I've been well, lots of college and stuff, but it's fun :D

Lots and LOTS!!! Ima need help with a name and where to find sprites and layouts and whatnot though :(
Also, I don't think I ever formally thanked you for all this help; it's very much appreciated. I don't know if there's anything in the game you actually need, but I'll try to pay you back as I can.
Sorry, I fell asleep (I'd been awake for about 30 hours at that point >.>)

Sure, that's fine. I like the ID, but I'm not glued to it. Do you need any more details than the PID I gave you for the Pokemon I want to get eventually?
I haven't heard from you in a little bit. Are you currently waiting for Pandora's Box or something else to find results?
    TID I got: 12414
    SID I need: 14134
    Delay for that SID: 48924
    Seed: BE07BF27

I don't know the *exact* moment I savestated, but it was when Birch says "You're (NAME) who's moving to my homtown of LITTLEROOT." Is there any way I can find out more specifically?
I'll ask him, but is there any way you could run it yourself via the information I give you? Or would that get too complicated?

And ys, I'm trying to get the PID 76CE7180 shiny. I have all the information on it as well as all the information on the SID I want to get out of the TID I currently have in my savestate.
