In fact the chansey in my thread was supposed to be a so-so parent for my actual chansey emerald abuse but I somehow missed the spread and I ended up with something good enough for what I needed so I never tried RNGing her again xp

I think it does count since RNG manipulation is about getting the exact result you were aiming for. If you randomly got an equally good spread then that is just like SR for eggs.
