If a pokemon is frame 1 you don't have to make any advances. What you said is true. How are you confirming your seed?

Copy the seed on the main page of rng reporter and fill the following information: type of rng{in this case hg/ss method 1, I believe} if you're using another method you also want to include if you're using a syncronizer,cute charmer etc,etc. That's it though, don't touch the ivs table,encounter slot,gender they would make you skip frames that don't meet your target criteria and you want to look at them to see if you're hitting one of them. After that just hit generate and go to your target frame and look for a frame near it that meets the characteristics of the pokemon you captured. If you find it before your target frame just do more advances, if you find it after just do less.

Have you checked which frame are you hitting? Because according to what I know no advancements should be made =/

Not really the act of switching between them but some stations do advance the frames. If you are at a station that advances the frames some might be advance before you leave the station. Here are the names of the stations that advance the frames and by how many:

If you're able to hit the lowest frame I would go with that. But,how far apart are the frames?

I usually mark 31/max IVs filled in, and less than 31s not filled in. This'll usually tell me what the HP on the guy is, but if I haven't used him a lot I give it the plate/gem to note it'd HP.

But yeah - I like to have both shiny and not-shiny versions of things I'm doing w/ multiple sets. It's superficial, but kinda cool. And relatively easy in the long run.

Yes, it would be exactly the same - except for shininess and OT.

So if you wanted to do one set w/ Stealthrocks, and then one w/o it, the shiny could have SR, the non-shiny could not. It's just a storting thing. Otherwise you end up having 2 or three clones of the same pokemon with the same OT, shininess, etc. and it's easy to mix them up. :P

That'd be interesting. :) Are you thinking shiny or not? If you do shiny, maybe clone the egg so I can hatch a non-shiny version (and trade you back a clone). That way it'd be easy to distinguish between two sets.

I'm a perfectionist too. Why settle for 2nd best? How dare someone else have a better pokemon than yours out there? :P

Female is functionally better than male in ~99% of the situations where it matters because of existence of "charm effects".

For example, starters are usually male, and often played. People who use charm effects use them on a female, hoping to get the occasional free turn out of the deal.

Therefore if your pokemon are female, they won't be charmed.

It doesn't come up much. But Males will always be 2nd best in this metagame because of it.

Edit: I should point out that many people don't bother choosing female over male, so this is another way to set your RNGs apart from the average RNGs.
