As far as tournaments are concerned, how many teams are actually naturally raised (as opposed to using PokeSAV or some other similar program), and how many are held online with generated teams? I've played HGSS for many hours, and have a fully EV trained Metagross, Scizor, Tyranitar, Salamence, and Starmie --- obviously that team leaves a few things to be desired, but I still love all of those Pokemon nonetheless. I was also looking to raising a Vaporeon and Jolteon; one for the fact that it is a special sweeper and the other to do some pretty lulzy stuff whilst walling and not being totally useless on the offensive (ice beam). Would I be wasting my time to actually attempt to raise these Pokemon, or would using PokeSAV save me a lot of heartbreak for IVs and natures (all of my pokemon that are EV trained are of the proper nature, and things like hidden power types always gave a bit of a headache due to not using Pokesav)?

I've been lurking and looking over RMTs for a while, so I have a somewhat stable "footing" in the grounds of OU, but am just looking to improve my play. Seeing as running in blindly with a team that has ALL OU POKEMON OMG NERF without any thoughts as to checks or counters is idiotic.

i had a weird stumbling block the first time i read your post. at the part where you said "i would address blah blah but dan already got it", i thought maybe dan dan had posted, or you were talking about daniel tosh or something. i think you're the only person in a forum other than dm who calls me that. it took me way too long to figure out because i'm so used to people calling me 'ud' (or even 'umbreon'), which is weird because dan is my name!

not sure if you're a big fan of me or not at the moment, but I wanted to express my gratitude for your mature handling of the situation in that awful topic. You've resisted many opportunities to get riled up at the more ignorant posts, and it's good to see a moderator with good sense. I hope that my opinions haven't offended you or caused you to think too negatively of me, because that's not my aim when posting.

Heh, no problem. Sometimes it seems like a waste of time though, it's so hard to convince anyone of anything... especially on that topic. Something I know from experience, since I used to be one of those guys making the same tired, shitty statements.
