It's really hard to exactly explain, my advice to you would just be to lurk and you'll figure it out on your own eventually.

As for the challenge, sorry, but I'm going to have to hold off until the new rule set is announced. Sorry, but vgc 2012 is starting to get stale for me and I don't have much time to battle between college and helping out here.
I think the best course of action would be to cut the cord on the group and learn solo for a while. You seem to be missing a lot of the subtleties of these past communities which is has lead to you looking pretty silly in the eyes of some others. You're a bit naive and though you've had modest success so far, you have a long stretch ahead of you to improve. I think it'd do you a world of good if you just focus on improving as an individual player and try to pick up on some of the community's social ques.
