It's because my Middle cup team originally shared 4 Pokemon with him, and then later on it became 5, but I have started to make a new team since :)
It was Kadabra Haunter Quilava and Magneton, plus Lairon and Zweilous. Then I replaced Lairon with Croconaw, and that made 5.
