better than shonn greene and turner, but too old and expensive for my tastes :c
some speedy mofos out there today

too bad they'll all get drafted by the raiders
I'm sick of having a 4th WR that only blocks though

aside from roddy/jj/hd the rest of our WR stats were drew davis with 4 catches for 40 yards and everyone else with nothing. I'm not sure kerry meier even exists.
I haven't paid too much attention to the draft class, but the tight ends this year sure do look impressive. I don't think we should draft one in the first two rounds, even if TG stays retired, but there were some good looking dudes out there today (no homo).

funny enough Jordan Reed reminds me of an Aaron Hernandez clone
I really feel like Danny Woodhead would be a cheap Spiller/Sproles type guy that would fill the same role perfectly. I think he's underrated and underused in NE.
a team source confirmed the report that said it was likely so that's good enough for me

If Gonzalez leaves, I really think a Harvin/Welker type WR will be the thing that makes this offense unstoppable. I'd love a guy like Spiller that can outrun everyone and run routes out of the backfield or as a WR... but we have way too many holes to fill on defense. If we cut Dunta we'll need another CB, we need another linebacker, we need a DE that can actually rush the passer, and we need another DT that isn't just mediocre. A guy like Austin would certainly be an exciting choice, but i'm not sure he'd be the guy that improves the team the most.

I just don't want to see us turn into the 'Aints, having an unstoppable offense that can't run the ball to control the clock and a defense that just gets gashed every game.
I would be perfectly OK with Te'o or any other first round linebacker. I will never forget us passing clay matthews for that stud named Peria :(
I feel happy for turner being cut, but sad for feeling happy. also sad for not feeling sad about him leaving in the first place :c

I can see dunta being cut too but I'm shocked anyone thinks we'll cut babs/abe, especially if gonzo comes back. not unless we had a bunch of miracle FA signings for cheap or something.
Chiefs, Jags, Raiders could all draft Geno... so could the Cards, Bills, Jets, Rams (doubtful because Bradford makes so much money), or Vikings. Anyone could pick him as a backup, Aaron Rodgers style (though Rodgers was >> Geno at this point). Granted, if he makes it past the Jets at #9 there's a good chance he would slide really far... but I figure someone will indeed try and trade back in the first round if he does so. Who knows, maybe it would be with us.

New coaches love new quarterbacks, though, because it prevents them from being fired after 1 or 2 years.
geno smith lasting past the first round??? wat

I dunno about either of those two guys, but I know I was happy with another certain safety turned linebacker.
Bush is too expensive. I'd rather keep what we have (sans Turner) than sign him.

How about Danny Woodhead from NE? Way faster than Jacquizz, he'd see the 3rd down work while Quizz/Snelling took care of regular running and short yardage opportunities respectively. Hell, we could get Felix Jones to do the same work Bush can pull for a tiny fraction of the cost.

I forget if I asked you before, would you want Teo if he fell to us at the end of the 1st round? Even with his disappearing act in the championship (against a real team) he's still a pretty good player. I don't think the imaginary girlfriend thing would be too big of a detriment if you ask me.
on paper, sure, but he is literally a locker room cancer. not sure matty/smitty could keep him calm.

plus he wants a megabucks calvin johnson/larry fitzgerald kind of deal and will hold out to get it. we're already spending like $70 million on the offense, and that's before ryan's raise next year. if we could rent him for a year and have him behaving like a good little filly we'd probably have the most unstoppable offense in the league (unless we kept Turner haha) and make it to the super bowl, but I'd be shocked if we actively tried to get him on our team.

besides, they want a 3rd, and that really means they want an early-3rd... our 3rd round pick probably wouldn't be high enough, let alone a 4th.
I don't pay enough attention to the draft to even know who those guys even are haha

would you make a Julio-esque trade to get Jarvis? I love him so much but I don't think he's a great fit for the team. I just saw him run himself out of too many plays last season.
jared cook would be pretty cool

this offseason's gonna be crazy though... my checklist would be Turner gets cut, Grimes gets resigned (who am I kidding, no way he says), resign Sam Baker, McClure probably retires, draft a DE or RG in the 1st round, target a DE/RG/TE in free agency, sign a pure speed back late in the draft. We really don't have many holes on the team, but we have a ton of averages players on defense. We can make another deep run into the playoffs with these guys, but I'd really love to get a star on the D-Line that makes the entire defense better just by being there.
honestly if this was not Tony's last game I wouldn't feel bad at all... I'm a little sad that the Falcons lost, and a lot sad that he lost.

the worst part is he was open on the 4th down play and desperately wanted the ball (the other worst part was that roddy was getting pushed even after the ball had been thrown which is pass interference)
that's why atlanta is one of the most miserable sports cities

    don't forget Chipper's last game...
less? seahawks was stressful only the last four drives of the game imo (TD, punt, TD, miracle drive). this one was back and forth after the first quarter!

losing Turner only hurt us because MS and gang hate Snelling, so they just gave the ball to Quizz every running play. I think Snelling will explode next year if we just give him a goddamned chance. he's faster than Turner/Quizz and breaks through tackles like Turner used to. either way I just hope Turner's gone... he had a good run, but he makes the team worse.
