  • Well he's not completely outclassed, however Infernape I feel like fills a different kind of niche in this meta game. Victini and Darmanitan are MUCH better on offensive sun teams because they can KO half the tier with Flare Blitz and V-Create. Infernape is still decent on a sun team, however he seems to function as more of a Choice Scarf user, Stealth Rock suicide lead, and a Mixed Attacker. His mixed set is still pretty good, however it HAS to be used with Ninetails. Overheat needs all the extra power it can get. I just feel like Darmanitan functions more on Sun teams as a nuke, while Victini also functions as one of the best users of Choice Band under the Sun. Infernape is more of an offensive pivot then anything else. He's still decent, but not that good.
TBH I'm focusing on beating the 1st half of 3D land right now. However, I've gotten to the second/third mission in Dark Moon
True, you are actually correct though. Although Seismitoad can do all that, it's power is barely unreconigzable, and Gastrodon is the exact same thing, but has reliable recovery unlike Seismitoad which he doesnt have. Also, Seismitoad can't even learn ice beam, which sucks alot because dragon types such salamence, and garchomp will wall it. It's movepool is shallow in which i wouldnt even recommend putting him on my team. Yea Swamperts support set isn't that great in the OU enviroment, i kinda agree on you on that one because of the presence of Ferrothorn. True, and his power of using the choice band makes alot of OKOs and 2KOs, making it a dangerous threat. Swampert actually has many options unlike Seismitoad though ;).
I'd keep testing him. This battle definitely shouldn't decide on how fitting Garchomp is on your team. Regirock? What is this NU?
speaking of analytic magneton its pretty cool on specs too, you lose the bulk that specially defensive has but analytic works when the opponent switches too, making it even harder to safely switch in on specsmag
Yeah i've been using a specially defensive set CherubAgent posted and its been doing quite well for me, those resistances are pretty core against say Escavalier, Choice Locked Druddigon, Blizzard spammers, etc.
even with nidoqueen in the tier it ended up moving up to C rank a bit later when durant returned to the tier because of its ability to reliably revenge kill it with the scarf set and dispose of Escavalier, Ferroseed, and Klinklang as well.
I dont think magneton was ever in E rank actually lol, the lowest Magneton ever was was D rank, and that was because the thread used to be run by another user who strongly disliked it+some people overreacted to queen's presence in the tier and thought she made magneton completely unusable
Rain, because his only weakness to Fire is neutered when it is in effect. He's also decent on Sand teams as a great counter to Dragons and a decent check to RP Landorus since it can tank a Focus Blast and OHKO back with HP Ice if it carries it. RP Landorus is quite devastating to Sand teams, so Bronzong is a nice defense to have against it.
that small amount of usage most likely comes from the part where the ladder was not updated yet with the tier shifts
    anoonguss is not nu
Um, can't you check? Anyways, Scolipede, Munchlax and Primeape dropped to NU, and Nidoqueen is UU now.
No way. It's a perfect D-Rank Pokemon: Fulfills a niche, but is overall mediocre in the meta game. Sounds like Magneton to me.
Good, Skarmory isn't impossible to take down like Deoxys-D was. You can thank GMD for introducing Custap Skarmory to Smogon.
