"Error: bind EADDRINUSE" means you already have something listening on port 8000. You should kill whatever you currently have listening there, or try a different port (change the port in the config file).

GAAAHHHH IT WORKS NOW THANK YOU SO MUCH ^^

And I heard from a friend that I have to go talk to an Admin that isn't you to get it registered for my site. Is that true?

Yes. You can also talk to me, I just don't like it since I'm busy. But since we're already talking, it's no big deal. Just tell me once you have 36 hours of uptime.

Oh I could definitely understand that lol. I'll let you know when we've reached that. By the way, if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me what the proper way to terminate the server process is? I've never really dealt with node.js before.

From inside, you can do /lockdown, followed by /kill. From outside, ctrl-c works just like any other console program.

Ugh, so something happened. The server had been running for a good 24 hours at least, but when I went to check it this morning, Chrome gives me the "No data received" error. I check the machine the chat is running on and everything seems to be fine over there, the chat will pull up fine locally...(cont)

My IP is static and everything else I normally use it for (TeamViewer, FTP, etc.) still works, but even rebooting the machine won't get the chat to come back up.

Any ideas? No rush, as I know how much work you have to do :c

Sounds like your ISP is messing with it? I don't have many other guesses, if nothing else has changed. My only guess is that your ISP has a "no servers" rule and after noticing some anomalous traffic, decided to enforce it?
