do you think something like this would look like this: http://i.imgur.com/y2q9oxe.jpg or would that be reinventing the wheel? Unfortunately I cannot afford to rent a 24 hr server. That is why I'm trying to have it like PO where you have download the program, and have all the images in the folder.
Hosting a PS server takes more work than a PO server, yes. No way around it right now. I might make an autoupdater for Windows, but Windows isn't very well-supported right now either way.
I heard that Windows 8 isn't compatible with some games. This project has been on my heart for a while. Outside of my project. I'm guessing Showdown doesn't need any help right now. What would be the first step in building a simulator, or making sure that PS is running up to date?
(I've got the local.psim set up and I could access the team builder.) Zarel what do you think would be better something to download, and let ppl access the team builder offline along with allowing them to edit color palettes/themes or go browser only?
What do you think the better option is having a browser based simulator, or have a simulator that needs to be downloaded but more customizable.
(thanks for being patient with me)
It depends heavily on what you're trying to do with it. Browser-based makes it easier for users to start playing, but you're right that downloaded leads to more engagement and makes certain customization easier.
In all honesty I feel like I'm leaning more towards a website since it'll be easier to update than having people download multiple updates, and potentially (unintentionally) having to confuse people.
