Doesn't mean that you have a say if even what you wanted to say was already predetermined. Maybe this exact encounter was just one of the small yet still chosen events of our lives and we are just along for the ride?

Yeah, sometimes I get on these super philosophical spiritual thought paths and that's how this came to be and also how I know that I'm an agnostic and several other things but if you're truly interested that's for another day n_n
