don't have time to check for the convo w/ hootie but you summed it up pretty nicely

np lol guess it would be kinda bad to just delete it without saying anything

also honestly I have kind of the reverse issue with it. I don't think it was a problem that they showed people more than Godzilla, the problem was that they didn't really get you to care about any of them, so you didn't *want* to see them.

What I said in the convo with Hootie was like the cinematography was shot to be "this is what it would look like if you were there" and the movie was trying to be more of a disaster movie than a monster movie (major difference is that the focus is about the scale of the destruction and the effect it has on the people) but they failed to get you to really feel it.

tl;dr I don't mind humans being shown so much but they just didn't do the humans the way they should've

but either way, I'm honestly expecting the sequel to be near perfect as they know what issues they need to fix. Gareth Edwards is returning to direct which I am really glad for because he gives the film a very distinct style (as I mentioned) and he's heavily involved in the effects department
