and then there are people who are okay with him fighting using only the force but not okay with him using a lightsaber...like lol ok don't even need to explain why that is dumb

I always interpreted the "Wars not make one great" line as just meaning you shouldn't fight to try to get glory and stuff, you just do it as a responsibility. That's why he later says to Luke that "Adventure, excitement, a Jedi craves not these things" but it doesn't mean fighting is not an option you sometimes have to take

especially in light of the ABOVE where he has people fighting for him. and it wasn't just a thing in the prequels either because he was always a jedi and the jedi were always warriors protecting peace and justice

now the argument that he is kind of small to be using a lightsaber because it is a close-range weapon and his flips and shit look retarded I can get behind

yoda was never a strategist, nor a warrior......but he was still a jedi master. He uses a shortsaber tho so he's already massively bad at lightsaber combat because he so handicapped like lmao

idk doesn't it seem hypocritical to be the one jedi who does not fight anyone, especially as the leader. there's nothing inherently wrong with fighting, if it is for the right reasons. Doesn't that make all of the jedi beneath him or something if they have to resort to the oh-so-evil "fighting" and he doesn't. But he only doesn't because he has all of his people fighting for him!

That's like those rich ass people saying "money is really not that important in life" but can only say it because they have money and don't need to worry about it.

"I don't need to solve things by fighting" you can only say that because you have a whole army of dudes fighting for you!

IoM Yoda is a dumb chatracter, and garbage delist. The movies do an especially bad job of it too..... the comics explain sometimes his philosophy, which is to completely avoid all combat.

And the Jedi only fight if they believe in it. The movies skew Yodas powerlevel because he was supposed to be a wiseman

if they just made Yoda someone who tries to find the peaceful solution but does fight when it comes down to it that'd be fine. I mean nobody has a problem with fucking Gandalf fighting, it doesn't ruin his image of being a wiseman

and they do most of the time but again, the movies are really dumb and show the worst sides of the characters; like look at AotC yoda is just mumbling stupid stuff while he walks, not wise at all

I'll be fair though it would be kinda hard to write Yoda wise in the prequels considering the whole point was that there was this conspiracy that nobody saw coming. It would take really careful and subtle writing for Yoda to be on to it but it also still happens.


I feel like that was an issue with the prequel trilogy in general considering there were so many Jedi. They just had to make excuses to get Obi-Wan and Yoda off of Coruscant

they should have used more jedi, better, like they have a whole council and only 3 have speaking lines

I mean the movies were already a bit crowded for that to happen. at least they got their time to shine in the shows and EU
