honestly I don't know if I can rank them anymore. bc which one I enjoy most just depends on what I wanna watch at the time I think. Still think III is the worst though

But actually, you can look at the smoke. Humans can create small models but we can't change laws of nature. Smoke swirls around, and if the swirls are really small relative to the shot it's far away. If the swirls are huge (like the size of the ship ben mendelssohn came in on) then the shot is a super close-up that has all the digital stuff put in it. It's pretty neat actually, and the close-up shots replacing models is kind of really cool.
