tbh it's funny that Zuko and Zhao never fight, honestly it's the only relationship/conflict in the entire movie that is actually earned. Like we have all these people throwing out lines that worked in the show but not in the context of the movie and then they have two characters with an actual emotional conflict depicted in the movie and then it never pays off LOL we just get those 4 random guys who come in and kill him and leave LOL.

It was obviously setting up for book 2 hardcore. Zuko had to be a Good Person.
Honestly, I think a book 2 of TLA movie would work surprisingly well. There's a lot of fluff in book 2. Meet toph, 2 mins learning earthbending. Who cares about bumi and the secret tunnel? But they'd probalby include it for NO REASON. You can have half of the movie be about zuko learning how to be a real person with azula bopping people and the last 30 minutes in ba sing se, similar to the first movie. It couldn't be that bad, could it?

I mean Zuko fought him in the show and nobody worried that he wasn't a good person. Like he never killed him or anything, in fact he tried to save him which makes him even look more good. It was just dumb and because they ran out of budget.
Book 2 would be interesting I agree. It would make more sense to amalgamate all the places they go in book 2 to one location and have all the events happen there. As opposed to book one where things had to happen in certain areas, like Aang *had* to visit the Air Temple, the Earth Kingdom stuff *had* to happen in the Earth Kingdom, obviously the climax *had* to happen in the North Pole. But in Book 2 they could make all this happen in one or two places. Library might be hard though.
The secret tunnel and King Bumi would be told over voice-over I just know it. Like "we traveled through a cave where Aang and I almost kissed! Then we met this crazy guy but it turned out he was Aang's long lost friend Bumi. He told us to go somewhere and that's where we are now!"
