honestly it seems like the one thing Lucas did plan. didn't he base that line on George Bush "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists"?

I think our opinions will always be split on star wars because you tend to care more about the worldbuilding, force powers, technology, etc. Whereas I tend to overlook details and possible plot conveniences, caring more if it services the themes and builds the characters.

That isn't to say either of us don't appreciate the other side but depending on which one you value *more* it will determine which ones you like more and which ones you like less. Which is why I feel like we'll just never agree because we're looking for different things.

This one made me realize how genius Vader's line was. Like my watching A New Hope and thinking "well you can't actually blow up a planet with the force" actually proved I was stuck in the same ideology as that dude who got choked. That's not what he was talking about at all. And it actually foreshadows Luke blowing up the Death Star later. BRAVO LUCAS
