He basically HAS the gaffes already. Gary Johnson really only approached biden level gaffes. Trum psaid stuff like "maybe they ought to be roughed up" and "grab them by the pussy" lol

I'm not familiar with the Biden gaffes
but I think Trump's "gaffes" just made him look like an asshole, whereas Johnson's made him look incompetent. I think people are willing to move past assholish comments much more easily.

The voter base of johnson and trump are different. Libertarians thrive by being the Superior, Enlightened choice, and have no ammo to counter johnson being incompetent. Trump being an asshole and incompetent inspire his voter base by convincing them that he "speaks his mind" and "is just a normal person like me"
