Let me rephrase that. You don't have to be lucky that you encounter whatever Pokemon you want, you just have to be lucky enough so that whatever spread you need is located on that encounter slot, which as I said below, involves plugging in every seed that PokeRNGDP gives you into RNGReporter. Here's the rest of my procedure. When I have my list of seeds, I go into RNGReporter and limit the constraints to ==31,31,31, none, ==31,31, chose Method K (for sweet scenting), then plug in each seed and hit Generate. If the spread appears (sometimes it doesn't for various reasons), right click on the spread and choose "Encounter Slots." It'll show you what encounter slot it appears at with Sweet Scent, and there's a link that shows you which Pokemon show up in certain encounter slots in every game. Make sure you're on the bike, then advance to the frame prior to your target, sweet scent, and voila.

Yeah, you do have to be lucky, and it takes some time. I'm thinking of writing a solid tutorial since I got ditto on the first time I hit my seed. Basically I went to PokeRNGDP and put any nature, no shinies, no-exact ivs, 31/31/31/0/31/31, then searched. From there I went into rngreporter and checked every seed. The ditto in hgss near the daycare are on slots 9 and 11, and I found two with that slot. Have you done any sweet scenting at all?

Yeah, I ended up just going ahead and killing it (I had no choice) and beating the elite 4, and am now using the roamer method for seed verification, since all 3 roamers are activated now. My next endeavor is catching flawless Ditto, now that I found out what Encounter Slots means. I already have a Jolly Ditto 31/31/31/x/31/31, which is in my thread. Hex flawless is a bit harder though.
