I would confirm it, but I'm pretty sure this sentence is only correct for Gen 3.

In Gen 2, moves that call other moves reset the flag that Conversion2, Mirror Move, Mimic, etc use.

It does not activate when the Pokémon's HP is lowered by a means other than direct damage (such as Pain Split, end of turn damage from binding moves such as Whirlpool or Magma Storm, or cutting its own HP by using Substitute or Belly Drum or Curse).

I just tested it and Magma Storm does activate Emergency Exit.
