Not only that but you know if someone close to them actually did it, they would have a completely different point of view on the subject. To go and say such things is rather cruel and borderline anti-social behavior. That is to do and say things with little to no remorse for others. It's rather sad.

Exactly. That's why they are able to get away with it. When people use the Internet, they perceive that they are invisible.The perception can be enhanced by creating anonymous accounts. People are not really invisible—online activities can be traced. But if you think you are invisible, this removes concerns about detection, disapproval, or punishment in this case. While the Law did favor Max in terms of a website being accountable, I don't think it would hold precedent over a case of gay bashing.

So many of these people I would love to meet in real life. I'd love to see where they live, what they do for a living (if anything), the amount of schooling they have received, what kind of car they drive etc. You know 90% of them are living in their parents basements feeding off them and doing absolutely nothing with their lives. It's quite pathetic.

That and the whole "Im anonymous over the internet" thing is rather amusing too. Everything you do can be tracked - everywhere you go you leave behind a small footprint - everything you type can no longer be deleted. Once it's out there, it's out there for good.

He already took action, so you should have dropped. That thread was inappropriate and should not have been posted, so he deleted it. You shouldn't have pressed him, that is not how you act even if you had a friend who committed suicide. Eerily coincidental, I found out (I was sick today) that a secretary at my school killed herself. But starting these aimless threads is not the way to deal with this type of issue. Yes he crossed a line, and he should apologize to you, but you shouldn't have made that thread.

I had a friend who jumped in front of a train 2 years ago. Regardless, the issue was the way you acted, I understand why you want to get mad but if you also made questionable comments to bad ass. Also, that is not a thread that should be posted, even if it has an ageeable message. You shouldn't have pressed it.

it's not like it was anyone's fault but your friend's that he killed himself. suicide is pure cowardice, and trying to blame someone about it is absolutely ridiculous.

It's pure cowardice. It's saying that life is too hard to continue, and that they just want to give up. It means that they're more scared of living life than they are of dying. It's selfish cowardice, where a person says that they'd rather abandon everything and give up on everything than confront their life. It doesn't deserve respect, it doesn't deserve anything but an understanding of what mental breakdowns lead to such a decision. I will empathize with those close to someone who commits suicide, but those who choose to abandon the people that care about them and leave that burden on them will never get my respect.

You may say that I'm an awful person, but I'm just blunt. I'm more than willing to call a spade a spade, and call people like you out for your self-righteous bullshit. You're naive, and you don't know a damn thing about the world yet. Oh, and before you give me the "you don't know how it feels" lecture, I had a close family friend kill himself. Guy was an absolute genius, he was loaded because he successfully sued Lockheed-Martin for wrongful termination as a whistleblower, and got himself a 27 million dollar settlement. Lived a comfortable lifestyle, seemed like a jolly chap, and he was a good friend of mine and my father's.

One day, he decided to eat a 38. Right out of the blue, no warning, no idea that anything was coming at all. A phone call from his ex-wife at 7:00 in the evening. Fun, huh?
