Multiple choice tests are usually no problem, especially if all the stuff comes from the textbook, which I rely on. Yeah, I get lazy often and that really takes away from a lot of things =/
I think it's worse to have less tests because if you screw one up badly, then it will be difficult to get an A in the class. I would say that 4 tests per class is just right.

Funny thing is that some classes have 3 "midterms" as the only grades for the class; I've had classes like those. Thanks Shii! I usually check Smogon during my "study breaks."
