That sucks, but before buying another router, try using WEP security and see how it goes.

Oh, I think I know two reasons why you're having problems connecting to people. First of all, the connection is shared by too many people, and second, there is no guarantee that someone isn't stealing you Wi-Fi since it's an unprotected signal.
I recommend you to start using WEP.
If not an inconvenience yet, I'd prefer the following ID/SID instead:
ID=12387
SID=22257
This is for my pearl version as I forgot how overcrowded my platinum game has gotten.

When I get the error you're referring to, my solution is to simply to disconnect and reconnect the router. I think newer ones have a Refresh button that works the same way. Using WEP security can also prevent other people from stealing your wi-fi.

sorry not knowing about the forum rules, im kind of new to all this and there is a lot to take in. your thread has a lot of info bt isnt exactly clear to noobs. do you only want other pokemon or money? if you can breed such good pokemon why do you need others? rng pokemon are hacks by the way so why care so much? once again, sorry if i sound like a fool but the only way to know is t ask. feel free to be rude i dont care :)
