  • university educated. Accredited university, not a christian one. Wanna make that distinction. The state of Kansas with the creationism trials and the Scopes trials is evidence enough.
I'm already fully educated, you can't actually hamper my education. Way to take a broad example and distill it to such a specific example that it doesn't apply
by opposing evolution (those christians that do) they absolutely hamper the education of others. You are a great example of opting into ignorance- you have no reason to believe in god and reject actual evidence other than a preconceived notion that there HAS to be something out there.

    I am your judge.
the fact that they make great discoveries is mutually exclusive with their mysticism.
I don't know that geologist, he may well be the worlds best geologist. It doesn't absolve him of believing in fairy tales into adulthood.
yeah you keep barking up that tree as if I care that some belief mongering wiccan pastor is a Geologist.
    vast majority

I am absolutely hateful of christians...and ALL belief, from cryptozoology to little kids believing in alien abduction. I fully admit it. As for christians: Opting into ignorance, hampering the scientific education of others, self righteousness, claiming moral superiority DESPITE ripping off Hammurabi...and the list goes on and on. I date a pastors daughter long enough to have the hate imposed upon me. You deserve my contempt.
He is also a fucking retard. It's not like NOBODY else could do what he does.

The vast majority of christians are pretty anti-progress, especially young earth ones.
why is it that every christian tells me something different? WHO CAN I TRUST
so you're saying that I don't have to do anything and I'll get into heaven bitchin
what about the people who are born in the middle east
clearly your all loving god gave you an advantage
then you believe in the god that created me knowing I would be atheist and go to hell?
If that's how you wanna play it that's fine
I think you do to some extent. For example, what would the odds of you having the same beliefs you have if you were born in Baghdad?
according to new translations, the first line of genesis reads "God separated the heavens and earth" as opposed to created. All powerful he is not???
or it could very well be that the bible is suspect. A text written by men with zero peer review is very likely to have mistakes.
I was more referring to claiming there is something out there that we don't know and being christian which means that something has to be god
    but sure
your basis for ignoring evidence is that "something is out there that we don't understand". By being a christian you subscribe to a set of packaged beliefs that explain what that something is.
you find nothing hypocritical in that at all? that's what the youch was for
so you acknowledge the evidence but choose not to let it impact your world view so heavily based on "there has got to be something out there that we don't understand" yet you believe in an organized religion that claims to have the answer

    Youch
