If you desire shiny, than yes you will need your SID.
I can check your game's SID later on in the day if you'd like.
What you'll have to do is, catch any random Pokemon on the game you'd like to find it's SID. And don't expect to get it back. Simple as that. xD!
Or if you have an AR you can do it yourself.
Correct, as HGSS are abused differently than DPPt, for breeding any ways.
They have similar methods for Captures, wilds, and wondercards.

I can't RNG breed on DPPt. I can RNG wilds, legends wondercards and safari abuse on Pt. I can RNG just about everything on HGSS.
