  • I'm trying to hatch a shiny and perfect pokemon, but some of the rules seem to contradict each other. The shiny instructions say NOT to use an Everstone, but according to Step 4 I have to land on the right ability, gender, and nature, which is pretty unlikely without an Everstone. What do I do about this? If I want to get a shiny pokemon (I do in this case) I can just program it for the right nature, but otherwise, if I want a nonshiny perfect pokemon, would I have to wait for the small chance that it lands on the right nature? I'm using a Modest perfect Ditto, too, and in Gen IV, so I can't inherit the nature from the father.

When do the shiny-finding instructions occur relative to the listed ones? Right before Step 1 of Frame Calibration? That would make the most sense, but I have to make sure before I do hundreds of happiness taps.
Hi again, I'm a little confused about this part of the egg-hatching guide:

    http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part3#frame

Do I have to do these steps for every project? The "calibration" part implies that it's a one-time thing, but the instructions following what I quoted never say "Take your parents out of the daycare," as though this was the beginning of every project and every time I'll have to calibrate it. (Continued in next post)
Can you do it in 5th gen? Its ok if you can't. If you can do them,16 credits. Added one credit because you're doing so much for me!
I want you to level it up to 2 so it'll evolve into a togetic. Give it the stone it needs and trade it to me.
Yes!!!!! Thanks you, I'd like you to do that machop with bullet punch. I'm guessing that's 8 credits all together when you give me the togekiss and machop. VM me when you could trade both pokemon.
I think there was a corresponding synch for it; I had entered Adamant in the synchronizer spot and I was using one. I think the problem may have had to do with me pressing "Start" when I was done with the Journal flips, instead of pressing "B" until I was out of it. Since doing the latter, I haven't messed up a single RNG.

Thanks again for all your help. I've only really learned the catching part of RNGing, so I may need your help again if I run into a snag in the breeding/shiny-making part of it.
Deal. How long do you think it will take? Also, do you already have them or are you going to breed them?
It worked! I have absolutely no idea how it worked, but it did! I have an Adamant Purugly (Go figure) right now with 31 / 31 / 30 / 31 / 30 / 31.

I flipped 91 times from a page with no data to a page with capture data, then walked one square. I don't know whether to be jubilant because it worked or confused because it didn't work for any reason I know.

Either way, I'm very happy. Whenever I open a trade thread, or even before that possibly, tell me if you want something and I'll give it to you.
Yes, I am looking for the seed I listed. I punched in everything right and it *seems* to be working, as far as the program goes, but the game isn't. The fact that I've gotten the right coin flips before every time that I've tried to find the target pokemon, and that the pokemon I *did* get was located on that seed (on a completely different frame though); together these should mean that I'm at least doing everything up to that point right, shouldn't it?
Okay, I'm going to be gone for several hours but whenever I get back I'll list the things I'm doing and see if I'm missing anything important and obvious.
Okay, I figured out that the pokemon is either on frame 462 or 496, but I have absolutely no idea how it got there.

    Is that enough information?
Could I give you the stats of the wrong pokemon (the one that's supposed to be on the right frame but apparently isn't) and could you punch them in and tell me the information I'm looking for? Tell me if that's alright whenever you get back on.
Sorry, I went to sleep right after I posted. Anyway, that's what I used to do, but RNG reporter wouldn't give me any information. It just tells me the Initial Seed, the Second, and the Delay. I don't know how to find out what frame I hit with just that info.
I double-checked, and it looks like there's an NPC that turns in its place randomly, but doesn't actually change position. Would that be causing the problem?
I'm RNGing for a pokemon that appears on the 187th frame. I keep getting the seconds right (as told by the coin flips), then I do what I'm pretty sure leads to the correct frame. At first I did 92 Journal page flips and walked one step, then Sweet Scented; according to the formula that should have done it. But the guide I read was kind of ambiguous about the Journal page that begins when you start playing; mine had "You captured X pokemon" on it, so I thought it might have counted that as 1 flip. Nope; I did it again and got nothing. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm not giving enough information to determine that?
