You clearly haven't understood what a Strikeout tournament is. When your opponent strikes out a Pokémon, it is YOU who cannot use the Pokémon, not him. If for example you stroke out Pikachu and he stroke out Sandshrew, you could still use Pikachu, while he could still use Sandshrew. Is it clearer now?
