Aren't you aware of e-sports and major league gaming? You say sports require more effort and are more challenging, but that's assuming physical effort and training is somehow worse. Professional gamers would spend at least as much time practicing as athletes do, and perfecting strategies to beat other high-level players would be no less challenging than mastering a sport. Mainstream society is yet to pay much attention to this aspect of nerd culture, but I think eventually it might gain more respect as we become increasingly reliant on technology.

... man, I always sound like I'm writing an essay! In real life if I'm not serious at all, lol
Yeah, I agree it's more fun than singles... a lot more strategies become possible and viable, and the problem of certain Pokemon dominating the metagame isn't there as much. While I do hope to see Doubles being a part of Smogon soon, I'm more bothered at the lack of a B/W Analysis Pokedex on the site... it still says "Diamond/Pearl" at the top near the logo. I don't know how long they took to update from 3rd to 4th gen, though.

I know it's just Pokemon, in fact I don't care about the game nearly as much as I used to. But what makes you consider sports to be a more worthy achievement... is it just because mainstream society is more accepting of sports than games? It should be about what an individual values most. Sports are just games too, the difference being they're in real life.
Yes, I agree... although it's worth noting that Smogon's tiers aren't catered to double battles, where certain Pokemon become more or less useful. I think it's fair to say Landorus would be more potent on a doubles team, but I don't know if it would be overpowered.

I seriously won't rest in peace until I've won something in my life, lol... at least you've got a reason to be happy this year!
I'm glad you liked the match, although I made some obvious mistakes... was quite lucky to still end up 3-0.

I also found it strange that Landorus was banned (didn't find out until I'd settled on my team). Just like with tiers here on Smogon, banning certain things will make people question why other things are or aren't banned, and there is always debate on what counts as being overpowered.

I try to avoid relying on moves with accuracy of 90% or lower, which is why my Ferrothorn spammed Gyro Ball and was conservative with Power Whip. I'm guessing you didn't suffer too much from hax if your main move was Heat Wave.

Don't suppose you're already planning or preparing for next year's tournament? I haven't found any inspiration for new team ideas, but I'll probably have to abandon all the Pokemans on my TR team as they're obviously as slow as I could get them.
I think the prevalence of Trick Room this year means everyone will either run it or be prepared to counter it next year, so it will be less viable. By the way, I uploaded the video of the last battle I had saved on my game; my YouTube channel is in my signature. I'm still not sure if I'd compete even with all-gens 4v4; my reliance on switching makes small teams a disadvantage for me. It would seem a bit unfair to ban Drought if Sandstorm and Hail were still allowed, but the trouble is that some Pokemon have Sand Stream / Snow Warning as their only ability, unlike Ninetales where it's only from DW. Also, if I remember correctly you used a Victini... I assume that was helpful for boosting the accuracy of Fire Blast / Overheat?
HOLY CRAP. You totally made it big so it would seem more impressive! It is a pretty nice trophy... but I think it should at least say 'Winner' or something... as for that Aussie VGC thing, I read the rules and found it a bit disappointing... partly because I don't like the 4v4 VGC format and the restriction to 5th-gen Pokemon, but also because the winner doesn't even get an invite to the real VGC. Where was it actually held? Also, for AVcon 2012 do you think you'll use the same type of team? I might try something other than Trick Room since it was a bit too common this year.
Got any links about this SA equivalent of VGC? It sounds much better in terms of technology available for screening the finals. I have no idea why I've never heard of this, I thought AVcon was the only local opportunity for dedicated players like ourselves to compete. Yeah, I got Trick Room up basically every time and made good use of it, even with not-super-slow Pokemans such as Scrafty and Jellicent. Scrafty was my most useful team member. I'll be uploading a video of my last recorded battle when I can, so you'll be able to see my team then! By the way, I never saw what the trophy looked like... any chance you could take a picture and link me to it?
Oh, so now I realise I was talking to the guy who would win the final! And on your first AVcon, no less... this was my third time. I came 9th, with 13 wins and 2 losses. Talking about the projector screen seems funny now that we've seen how professional that was, lol. What's the State tourney you referred to? By the way, I liked your Reshiram and Zekrom shirt! I never expected a Sun team to even make the finals, now I feel stupid because that was my first idea before settling on Trick Room. I have no Dream World access, so that limited me a lot...
It's definitely worth going on Sunday for the Pokemon tournament; there are a lot of... 'interesting' teams to play against, and the finals on the huge projector screen have always attracted a lot of attention. Anyway, you probably won't have a clue which person if you compete, but hope to see/battle you there.
Well stop dragging me into your arguments. According to Dale, you two should rent a hotel room together and release all that pent up stress with each other.
I am just going to say this. You are officially 3 weeks late as of this point in time. And yes I can prove this to you with maths if you so wish :P
Thanks, but I think having a badge on Smogon is more impressive than all 646 Pokemon! By the way, are you going to AVcon? I'll be there mainly for the Pokemon tournament, which I've competed in since 2009...
I guess you are correct in that one particular sense. However we did compromise that Zelda is a Hyrulian Elf and many of his arguments have no relevance to the situations admittedly.
While there IS the argument that you COULD be an idiot, retard or dumbass (only a possibility), I wish to make it known that you are always, characteristically, consistently and constantly LATE.
If I didn't do it and Sheshi didn't do it, you must have called yourself a noob.
I have no idea what the hell you're referring to. I haven't called anyone a noob in nearly a year. Admittedly however, I have called quite a lot of people idiots, retards and dumbasses. However I haven't used the term noob in a long time (with the exception of this one wall post).

Oh and as for the post below, I figured I may as well place a random grammar point on your wall where people will see it because I highly doubt anyone bothers checking my profile page.
Please note that it is YOUR not YOU'RE, as YOU'RE is a shortened version of YOU ARE which is not the same as YOUR, which is indicating a particular person or object.
I'm not sure. I don't remember ever calling you a noob. It sounds more like something Daniel would say. I'll ask him.
Firstly I don't remember calling you a noob. Secondly I've been spammed by the cookie monster...
