If it's already taken damage it will still lose 1/4 of if's health on the switch in. This is assuming that every time ninetails switches in, he doesn't take any extra damage. This is rare in a battle, but on the rare case that it does happen, you'll be glad that you can switch him in one more time.
Well, ninetails is weak to stealth rock, so it loses 1/4 of it's health each time it switches in. You can't divide an odd number by four, so I figure that's the safest bet. This way, she can switch in 5 times with stealth rock up instead of just 4. In fact, ANY pokemon that's weak to stealth rock should have an odd number for it's HP.
How quickly do you think you can EV train them?? Oh, and I just figured out that vulpix is flawless with HP ice. Use either HP or defense as the last four EV's (whatever gives it an ODD NUMBER HP at level 100).
Oh, and as far as ninetails EV's are concerned, I just want to max out it's speed and special attack. The only thing I'm not sure of are the last four EV's. I just want to make sure that it ends up with an odd number HP at level one hundred to allow the maximum number of switch ins with stealth rock.
You're right about him needing to take physical hits, but he has the wrong nature for that. I'm going to stick to my original plan and max out his special defense, but you can do a second EV spread for me if you want.
Do you mind EV training this vulpix also?? That's all I need.
