Gimp is a really good program to use considering it is free. It's great for people who don't use photo editing very much or if you don't want to pay for Photoshop like me. It has almost all the features that Photoshop has. You can have layers on it and you can change the saturation, gradient, and most of the other stuff that you can do on Photoshop. I'm not sure how much space is needed. I had less than 2 GB on my computer when I downloaded it and it works fine for the most part. It can take up to about 150-200 MB once you get it.
I would reccomend it for you.

Yes and no, I always have preconceived notions about ppl based on how they look, talk, act, when I first meet them. But i try to give them the benefit of the doubt on the 2nd impression (though a lot of times my instinct it right on the money)
