Also, do I have to do anything to the pokemon, or should it be freshly caught and never trained, no EVs? And just to further clarify, it can be normal right, because I haven't found any shiny, hence why I'm asking for this in the first place. (sorry, I've never done this before, I deduced my Pearl version SID from chained shinies that I caught).

Lastly, the game is SoulSilver, so if that will be a problem in deducing SID, I can understand b/c the RNG in HG/SS isn't fully cracked yet.
