What if they don't have any status inducers on their team? Then you've wasted an ability slot. There are a lot of variables that can be brought into play. For what he's designed to do(which, to be honest, depends on the person), he has three abilities that work. For me, I prefer...

Currently I've been working with Zuruzkin on a mono-type fighting team. I have a pokemon with guts on the team already, and if I get worried that it will be something with Toxic/A status move I bring him in. Although our playstyles may differ- if someone tries to wall me I just attempt to hammer...

Currently running: Zuruzukin@Leftovers Careful Overconfidence 252 HP, 126 Def, 130 Atk -Payback -Drain Punch -Bulk Up -Zen Headbutt I use Zen Headbutt because I've had a bunch of fighting types switch in on him and get gibbed/flinched by it, which is pretty nice. Ice Punch over ZH could work...

I don't think that he 'needs' them, it is just that his other two abilities far outshine Shed Skin. Both are basically guaranteed occurrence, whereas shed skin is a % chance to fix a problem. It doesn't have much syngergy(imo) with the way his stats and movepool work out compared to the other...

Zuruzukin was paralyzed. I don't think I have anything that can paralyze on my team. The main thing I saw was that with a little bit of set-up(which is completely plausible due to Zuruzkin's bulk) he can basically lay into things with drain punch and keep himself completely alive. He also...

I think it does, because it(imo) shows how bulky a drain punch+bulk up zuruzukin can be. I'll post it after I'm done putzing around in ICC. Remilia Scarlet sent out Fluffia! (Erufuun) TH sent out Spike! (Terakion) Start of turn 1 The foe's Fluffia used Substitute! The foe's Fluffia made...

I love just bulking up in people's faces with this guy. Was running a defensive set with Payback/Bulk Up/Drain Punch/Zen Headbutt. Bulked up 3 times, KO'd one of their pokemon then floored their Kyeremu or whatever the ice dragon's name is. Feels good. edit: Am i allowed to post battle logs...

I don't think you understand how wake-up slap works.
  9. Poliwrath

Overhead throw does dmg and chucks them out. It's basically Dragon Tail or Roar with dmg, fighting type. Heavy rain is any rain. Just a typography thing iirc.
  10. Poliwrath

He could- but the life orb just exacerbates how quickly he'll go down. He only has 5 uses(4? I don't remember if LO activates on buff moves). He also drops down low enough that priority will drop him like nobody's business. Leftovers or another item(expert belt, maybe? Muscle Band? i don't...
  11. Poliwrath

What this guy said. You say that Poliwrath got nothing new- he gained Overhead throw as level up. In turn, he also gained a slew of new attacks that might help him. Moves that are interesting: -Boiling Water -Level Ground -Ankle Sweep On top of that: Running Life Orb with Belly Drum just...

The thing about mountain storm is that is a guaranteed crit. I wouldn't use Superpower on Nageki anyway, because it is detrimental to his bulk. My current plan is to use him as a bulky pain in the ass with Overhead Throw+Mountain storm. A STAB, SE guaranteed crit(while being only 40 BP before...

I like his design because he doesn't look menacing at all. He looks completely silly, and then he jump kicks something in the face and knocks its teeth out. Can't wait to fiddle around with him some more.
  14. Throh

Nageki is pretty cool, I think he'll do better when we get move tutors in the 3rd version(if it happens). Otherwise, using him and his bulk with overhead throw+mountain storm is hilarious.
  15. Scrafty

Yeah, just about. I've basically switch him into stuff he can OHKO or force out. Then he sets up, and starts hammering things to death. Forgot to mention that I use overconfidence on him.
  16. Scrafty

I've been using: Zuruzukin@leftovers Careful 252 HP/124 def/128 SpDef Drain PUnch/Dragon Tail/Bulk Up/Crunch Works pretty nice. I've got another setup that I don't remember off the top of my head- will post when I find it.
  17. Scrafty

True. I've been messing around, but chances are Drain Punch is what I'll use over HJK.
  18. Scrafty

I've been keeping him with Leftovers since I run Bulk Up/HJK/Crunch/Dragon Tail. It would be nice. I have a mxied blaziken with Wide Lens that has Stone Edge/Fire Blast/HJK/Cheer Up and he's been doing well too. Cheer Up is a really hoss move, in that regard
  19. Scrafty

More or less based on thug culture/rebellious youths judging from his 'dex entries. I've been running a super-tanky variant of him and it seems to work great when he gets to set up, but he keeps KOing himself with HJK. Such a pain.

According to the thread about encourage, this is what we have that it boosts in his movepool: So Iron Fist may be better for certain sets, Guts may be better for other sets, and Encourage may be better for one that has Force Palm and Rock Slide. Encourage is a wonderful ability, but it...
