    Coming back into competitive battling, I'm seeing a general trend to opt for more powerful moves over weaker more accurate moves, Hydro Pump over Surf, for an example. Why?   2. Where did all the status effects go?

    Is it just me, or does no one use status effects (BRN, PSN, PAR, confuse) anymore? The only expection I see is Gengar w/ Hypnosis. Do people now prefer to hit hard and fast with the new choice items or am I just facing the wrong opponents?
