    Pokémon Guzzlord

After reviewing Guzzlord and doing some calc's, the best nature is likely Modest. Regarding its moveset, for offensive coverage, you probable want to go with the following: Guzzlord @ - Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 128 Def / 252 SpA / 128 SpD Modest Nature - Draco Meteor - Dark Pulse -...

Ask simple questions here! [READ ORIGINAL POST before posting]

Hi there. I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but I am trying to edit some code on a Stylish theme for Pokemon Showdown and could use some help locating the proper lines. I am trying to edit the blurred and shadowed font so it appears like normal font...

    ORAS - post-Greninja - Metagame Discussion

But you are talking about "what if" situations, if maybe indirectly so. You're suggesting that a Baton Pass or a complex ban should be used because the use of Baton Pass and passing moves is inherently problematic, and if we ban the current best passer, the next one down the line is likely to...

    ORAS - post-Greninja - Metagame Discussion

I don't think that we should be conducting policy on the premise of "what if." If it is a problem, that is the time it should be dealt with. If Baton Pass turns out to be a future problem, it should be dealt with at that time, not with preemptive solutions. The cleanest solution from an...

Other ORAS OU Viability Ranking Thread V2 - Check Post #2500 PG. 100

For me, what makes Keldeo S Rank is 1: Scald, 2: it's ability to bluff, and how significantly that matters, and 3: it's hard to justify not using it given its consistency and assets that teams often require. 1: Pokemon battling is all about accruing an advantage once you have the advantage, or...

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

Respectfully speaking as someone who doesn't have a badge or someone who isn't high on the ladder, even though I think people in my position are capable of contributing to the discussion without ruining it, there are many more people like this individual who are honestly making the topic less...

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

I didn't agree with a complex ban when it was suggested in Gen V, and I don't agree with the idea now. Complex bans shouldn't and do not need to be considered. Rather than playing the accusation game and trying to decide what to ban based on what the 'culprit' is to the Swagger + Foul Play...

    Pokémon Clefable

You're running circles of semantics here. Bottom line: regardless of power, even if it is presumed and shown that Pokemon will rise, fall, or sit in a tier based on their innate power, where they sit in usage is the only means we use to categorize them in our tiers. Case in point, finncent1...

You're actually wrong. It's based on usage. It always has been.

    Pokémon Goodra [REVAMP]

I'm fairly certain that theres virtually no need to use Sassy or Quiet over Calm or Modest since Earthquake has enough damage to do what it needs to do. I recall doing the cals a while ago and to my recollection if doesn't give you any significant KO's on any important targets.

XY Suspect Testing Round 1 np: Michael Jackson - (extreme)Speed Demon (READ POST #1278)

And what would have happened if Deoxys-N was broken, but was not banned as quickly as it was? People would resort to using it in order to win, and it would rise in usage. This is a poor example you've given, particularly when something is banned quickly within a meta still in its infancy. I...

XY Suspect Testing Round 1 np: Michael Jackson - (extreme)Speed Demon (READ POST #1278)

I think if a Pokemon were good enough to warrant a ban from a suspect test, it would be a lot higher than #69 in usage. Genesect and Lucario are in at least the top ten.

XY Suspect Testing Round 1 np: Michael Jackson - (extreme)Speed Demon (READ POST #1278)

You could build a perfectly fine team without Mega Gengar? You're limited to 1 Mega per team, and it was a choice between Mega Gengar (which helped to deal with Mega Kangaskhan), or the same Mega Kangaskhan that you conceded was "absurdly overpowering." I think your rational here is a bit murky...

XY Suspect Testing Round 1 np: Michael Jackson - (extreme)Speed Demon (READ POST #1278)

I've read through a good majority of the arguments for banning/maintaining the three Pokemon being discussed. I don't have an immediate opinion on any of them, even if I might be more inclined in a given direction on some of them in one respect or another. However, I thought it would be...

The problem with Deoxys-S being S-Rank this generation isn't that it isn't good at setting up hazards. The problem is that even despite the fact that Deoxys-S gets those hazards up, they will inevitably be removed from the field later in the match despite Deoxys-S doing its job, even if you...
