  1. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - The Offical In-Game Discussion Thread

Is there a list on the internet yet for what learns the new move tutor moves??
  2. DP Research Thread #6 (Even newer)

Well on the topic of last resort, how exact does last resort check if all the moves are used?? Does it see if you've selected, move1, move2, etc. before using last resort, or does it check if the other moves you have access to have been used by the last resort pokemon?? Do you have to select...
  3. VGC's Metagame

Generally speaking whats a good counter to these starters. Bronzong (0 Spd IVs, Leftovers) -Hypnosis -Trick Room -Gyroball -Explosion Smeargle (Focus Sash) -Fake Out -Endeavor -Dark Void -Protect Im sure you all know how this runs, smeargle fakes out the one most likely to taunt or sub...
  4. Sleep Clause V2: a better definiton for WiFi battles.

Assist is still up in the air. I dont think you can really abuse assist realistically. Also almost nothing good learns it, and theyre all NU. Also youd need to have 6 sleep moves it put it above youre 30% acc rate. Provided all the other moves are allowed by assist. So keeping it in the current...
  5. Sleep Clause V2: a better definiton for WiFi battles.

How about this for a clarification of the rule; Only if the move selected could ONLY cause sleep and was selected (not encored, or forced) does it result in a DQ. Examples, Magic coating on the 1st turn will not result in a DQ, because the opponent could use any move, but if you've encored...
  6. Pokemon Philosophy: Is abusing the RNG cheating?

Pokesav also lets all ur stats be 999 and gives it any move and ability it wants... inclueding tonnes u couldnt get legit... pretty sure thats cheating. I think that really sums it up... yes its legal, because you could have achieved the same things 'randomly'. But it feels like cheating...

If i have a poke that knows both imprison and transform, can i imprision 1st, then transform and force my opponent to struggle?
  8. Sleep Clause V2: a better definiton for WiFi battles.

Well thats why we're trying to make it simple. The bonus with shoddy and PBR is that the games themselves stop successive uses of sleep while wi-fi doesnt allow us that option. So we're trying to emulate the old sleep clause without completely banning sleep moves or forcing players to dq due to...
  9. Sleep Clause V2: a better definiton for WiFi battles.

OK, I have a question... how would the rule effect magic coat, bouncing back a sleeping move. Example, lets say player 1 has 1 pokemon asleep (not from rest), and has a breloom using spore. Player 2, with zero pokemon asleep, magic coats the spore back on breloom. Would that be a dq? Also...

yup, itll kill it at the end of the turn too!
  11. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 19 (READ THE OP)

All out offensive should be 252 SAtt, 252 Spd, 4 HP... (+SAtt -Att nature) though if u want some more bulk, get rid of the spd and put it in HP, same nature
  12. Sleep Clause V2: a better definiton for WiFi battles.

Assist doesnt work that way, it takes anyone of the 4 moves of your pokemon (except for a notable few) and picks one at random, it inclueds fainted pokes but not the user of the move. %age wise you'd need 6 sleep inducing moves (spread over 5 pokes), to reach 30%, assuming they each carry 4...
  13. 2v2 Ladder

I understand that w.o a sleep clause people will completely abuse it and everything will revolve around sleep immunities etc. and thats not really the kinda of meta-game I want to see the 2v2 become. Yet this is a by the people/for the people game... kinda, so I think, honestly, it should come...
  14. 2v2 Ladder

I'm just trying to be helpful. I didn't mean to overstep or anything.
  15. 2v2 Ladder

Then leave the move as is and when the sleep clause is activated you can't use a team with that move on it.
  16. 2v2 Ladder

What if you reprogrammed the move (Dark Void) so it'll target both pokes, but only successfully put one of them to sleep. I.e. Darkrai uses Dark void. Fastest opponent pokemon is targeted 1st, if he is hit with the move, then the dark void will fail on the slower one. Otherwise the move...
  17. DP Research Thread #5 (Newest yet)

I'm not sure if this has been covered already. But if a cacturne /w sand veil is up against anything /w mold breaker, in a sandstorm. Does cacturne lose his sandstorm immunity??
  18. Official TPCI Pokemon Tournament 2009 | Congrats to all who participated!!

I guess I'll only goto nationals. I cant really afford to goto more than one of them and we're stuck way up here in Canada so that even seattle is like 20 hrs away. I think I got a couple buddies driving down with me (not for nationals just for the hell of it) sooooo... even if I dont get in...

Its .75 unless the attack kills something then it hits everything else for 1. It also hits in order based on the ingame speed, not base spd (so it takes into effect TR and boosts) So if you have Weavile & Dugtrio (using eq) and they have two really slow things. Its hits weavile 1st for 75 base...

Shedinja + Flygon/Garchomp work rather well. Or Dialga + Giratina. Depends on which teir youre playing on.
