  1. Blistering Heat! An OU Sun Team

Pretty much entirely agree with Smith's points, on Slowbro and Saur especially. The 3 atks you're now using look good to me, and T-Wave would indeed be nice to help all of your team but Saur. Smith's post reminded me that your Saur does not need all those Spe EVs, consider dropping to just beat...
  2. Blistering Heat! An OU Sun Team

Imo if you use Alphatron's Doom Desire Jirachi from here then you should definitely try and put SR elsewhere. You could use it over Flame Charge (definitely go Timid in that case) or SE on Mamo, as with Ice STAB it's not as needed, you lose out on hitting Gyara pretty much (I think that's it)...
  3. Blistering Heat! An OU Sun Team

Hey there, good to know my article's helped someone! You have quite a solid Sun team here, but there are a few changes I'd recommend. Tales like you say could probably make better use of something other than EQ. Personally I run a similar Tales with Sub over CR, which allows me to blast out...
  4. My Best Draught stall team

Imo Chesto Berry>Lum Berry for resting harvesters. The berry is only renewed once per turn, and if you get hit with a burn or toxic then the berry will vanish meaning you'll be asleep next turn (I'm fairly sure this is the case). Since Tropius can easily cope with burn/toxic for a turn or two...
  5. My Best Draught stall team

Rest does not work with Leaf Guard like Hydration - it prevents status whereas Hydration instantly cures it. Synthesis would work as a replacement, however, but the lack of PP is offputting.
  6. Marowak: The Gen II Powerhouse

The main issue with Bonemerang being useful to kill Sturdy pokemon is that the ones in OU are better dealt with by SE/Fire Punch (Forry and Skarm). Everything else is relatively rare, the next most used probably being Donphan who is neutral to it. Frankly in OU it's not worth risking the...
  7. Blazing Skies of Death [need help again!]

Just wanted to respond to the above: Choice Specs on Tales is a really bad idea, as it means she will be entirely destroyed by any Pursuit user, and given that she is your most important pokemon you simply cannot afford to let this happen. Specs HP Fight will not 2HKO most TTar in Sand, let...
  8. Blazing Skies of Death [need help again!]

If you have troubles with Heatran then you could utilise Sub+HP Fight on Tales to very easily beat all but the incredibly rare SpDefTran, if you also invest in HP as opposed to SpA. Heatran himself with a Balloon would indeed be an excellent way to take care of this weakness, but be sure to...
  9. Rise and Shine - OU Sun article (Written)

Thanks a lot for the compliments! I see where you're coming from with Katakiri's team not being too easy to pick up and play - unlike a more cookie-cutter sun team like my own would be for example - but people simply copying Kata's team wasn't really my intention with the example team section...
  10. Leafeon

It's not the defensive side of Grass/Normal that offers benefits, it's offensively. Normal is a fantastic neutral STAB to have access to, and STAB Return is what makes Sawsbuck so deadly (that and acces to Jump Kick and Nature Power) as opposed to Leafeon's absolute lack of useful coverage - so...
  11. Leafeon

I agree with Alpha on this one. Leafeon still faces huge competition for a place on a Sun team, even with Egg moves. Offensively Sawsbuck utterly outclasses it, as a SD Baton Passer Sawsbuck still competes and things like Gliscor do as well due to not compounding sun's weaknesses for little...
  12. VGC '11 United Kingdom National - Birmingham - June 4th - WON BY RubeNCB92 & Plusle

Hmm, a ton of my friends are going (master's division), and I'd join them to spectate if not for the fact I have exams the monday, tuesday and thursday afterwards :\, talk about bad timing.
  13. Leafeon

Personally from my use of BP Leafy in DW, passing Sub seems to be one of her greatest assets, seeing as she's really bulky and ofc incredibly fast in Sun, and combining this with Wish or a boosting move tends to work out quite well. Not to mention that not much stuff in sun would like to take a...
  14. Triple Battle Metagame (GBU)

You could just use an ability-erasing move, such as Worry Seed on your Whimsicott? That would help eliminate them to a hilarious extent. You could just use 3 Fire moves (and/or Charcoal), since if you have enough support then immunities and resists won't be troubling you too much? Gives you...
  15. Under the Sun, We Were Gods (Peaked at #34)

I do very much like this sun team, it's the reason I believed Chlorophyll to be broken in UU lol, when I saw it win that tourney the other day it convinced me pretty much :P. Anyway, as a quick rate (not sure of the point of this since Drought looks like it'll go), I agree that two Sleep Moves...
  16. Rise and Shine - OU Sun article (Written)

Hmmm, I've recieved numerous pieces of advice suggesting I add Dugtrio in, so despite my own horror stories with the little guy(s) I'll write up a piece for him shortly. Thanks for the tip Chieliee!
  17. Prelude of Light (OU Sun + UU Subs) [Peaked at 7th]

For me, looking at the team without playing it I can't discern weaknesses to particular pokes or similar, but I will offer you my thoughts on the one weakness I see. Because you run a very much non-standard team, part of the reason you beat someone for the first time may be because they...
  18. Leafeon

Finally I can put my evil +2Atk Flash Fire boosted Arcanine sweep team into action... Mwahaha Yeah, Leafeon still faces stiff competition for the BP role from Sawsbuck, who's a better sweeper and still gets forced out by a few common mons, but now it gets Wish too it may become somewhat useful...
  19. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 4 - Blaze of Glory

@ those ridiculing slippery slope: Anyone who has been here the last few months should know that one of the biggest problems Aldaron's proposal caused was not the slow slide into a ton more complex bans, but the huge clamour for an inumerable amount of them because of this, which makes threads...
  20. Triple Battle Metagame (GBU)

@the above, yes it is, as long as your Follow Me mon doesn't die before the slowest targeted attack hits. I did try an Eruption abuse team with a Quiet Heatran, After You Lilligant and Tales as leads, but it got roflstompted by Tailwind and TR, prompting my second team.. But your Typhlosion...
