マシンとの戦い (OU Offensive RMT)

Hey guys, this is basicly my first OU team where I really thought about teamwork and not putting some pokeys together. I wanted to create a team with good synergy, and this is how it worked out:

Team building process:

I knew I wanted to base my team around Scizor. His ability and great movepool makes him an excellent sweeper.

I needed something to cover up Scizors Fire weakness, and I thought of Vaporeon, who is a good support pokey with excellent walling capabilities.

SR is a must for Scizor and a few other sweepers, so I needed a good lead who could set up Stealth Rock. Metagross was the man.

I wanted a good special sweeper who was immume to ground attacks which my steels are weak for, Gengar came in my mind.

I had a good synergy now, but i needed an Electric pokemon. With Vaporeon luring out electric attacks, Electivire seemed a good choice.

So I had one slot open for a late game sweeper, MixMence.

Metagross | lead
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Clear Body
Item: Occa Berry
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Speed
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Bullet Punch
- Explosion

Scizor needs Stealth Rock support for a good sweep, so I needed a strong, bulky lead who could lay down the rocks. Metagross was there. This guy can take Fire hits because of the Occa berry. I chose Earthquake above Meteor Mash so that I can take on Infernape and Heatran leads. Bullet Punch is just a nice STAB + priority move. Explosion is for doing huge damage to other leads if Metagross got less HP.

Scizor | scout
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
Item: Choice Band
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Speed
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

This guy is a beast, seriously. It comes in, kills, and goes out. U-Turn is for STAB and doing damage/get out. Bullet Punch is obvious due to priority, STAB, Technician and Choice Band which makes it a killer move. Superpower is for darks and Blissey, Pursuit for Psychics or Ghosts trying to switch out. I'm a little concerned about my huge Fire weakness, so I have a Vaporeon on my team.

Gengar | special sweeper
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Speed
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Bomb

Gengar is my special sweeper. He doesn’t absorb the Fire attacks aimed at Metagross and Scizor, but can absorb the Ground attacks aimed at my steels because of Gengar’s Levitate. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are the basic STAB moves. Thunderbolt and Focus Blast are just for coverage. I might switch this guy for a Rapid Spin Starmie because Scizor takes huge damage from SR/spikes.

Vaporeon | supporter
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Speed
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Wish
- Protect

Vaporeon is the supporter of the team, he can heal my teammates with Wish and do some damage with STAB Surf and Ice Beam (which I might switch for Toxic though). Vaporeon also makes great synergy with my Electivire, luring out Electric attacks for a nice Motor Drive boost. If I lose Ice Beam for Toxic, I would be able to get a nice poison stall with Vaporeon.

Electivire | physical sweeper
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Motor Drive
Item: Expert Belt
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop

It’s rock and roll if this guy has the +1 speed boost from Motor Drive. Expert Belt over Life Orb because Electivire hits almost anything super effective. Thunder Punch for STAB, rest is for coverage. If someone wants to launch Earthquake at this guy, I can switch over to Gengar or Salamence. Nothing much to say here.

Salamence | mixed/late-game sweeper
Nature: Rash
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 176 Speed
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Brick Break
- Roost

I was not sure if I should go with the classic MixMence or the new one, I decided to go with classic. Late-game can be long, so I decided to give my Mence Roost to heal up any (Life Orb)damage. This guy is also great against stall teams. Rash nature and 252 SpA EVs to let it hit as hard as possible with the special attacks. Fire Blast is for steels, Brick Break for Blissey and other things weak to Fight. Roost is for keeping the Mence bulky, because he is going to take some damage from the Life Orb and probably other attacks.

NOTE: You might notice that I lack a good Special Wall, I might replace Gengar with Special Wall Dusknoir keeping the same synergy and because MixMence also has great Special Attack capabilities.

Please tell me what you think about it, help is very appreciated :)

I feel that that is not the best Gengar set to be using. First of all, Sludge Bomb has pretty redundant coverage with Shadow Ball and as such should not be used. The best options here are either to run Explosion (and change your nature) which will let you do large amounts of damage to Blissey and other specially bulky pokemon, or to run a substitute set. Substitute allows you to escape from Scizor and Scarf Tyranitar, or even go for the kill, as well as easing your prediction considerably and protecting you from status. Generally, LO and Sub is discouraged when not running pain split, but Gengar is hardly expected to hang around. I would go for HP Fire over Thunderbolt as this way you actually kill Scizor.

I would suggest the removal of Electivire. Electivire will struggle to obtain a motor drive boost in the context of this team, with only vaporeon helping to lure them. In reality, even after a boost, physical Electivire is too easily walled and, lacking in any sort of bulk, it will easily be KOed. I would recommend that the replacement takes little damage from electric attacks, but also that it might survive long enough to absorb them.

68 speed is redundant on Vaporeon. Very few skarmory willl be outrun by it, and most Skarmory will conclusively beat you anyway with specially defensive spreads, and even taunt. I think Vaporeon should be looking to outrun standard Scizor, so 12 EVs is recommended. The rest of the EVs can be dumped into spdef or HP. Since I can see some real trouble with Gyarados on thid team, I would suggest HP Electric over ice beam to ensure even taunt versions are countered.

Good luck.

Your team look very similar to mine, just 2 pokes that are different. I would go with SD Scizor over that CB One, thats just my opinion. Also, go with toxic, over Ice Beam. Give VP more walling capabilities. For that Special wall i would probably take out E-Vire for that ScarfTar your team kind lacks speed. ScarfTar kill off Latias and Rotom Forms.
