Ok we are finally through the first round, and I had to put my foot down and use a deadline method of proceeding as I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and wont be back until friday. With that said, I give you Round Two.

Again, I am sorry to all those people who are going to look at this topic tomorrow and think "What the FUCK" but I did what I had to do to get the second round up and running. Thanks to everyone to cooperating and to the people who actually showed up at the deadline.
It takes 5 wins of the 8 battles to advance to the second round. In the case of a 4-4 tie, each team will choose a representative (not necesarily the captain) to compete in a tiebraker match. Captains are responsible for PMing me if they need to sub someone out.
The deadline for this round is TWO WEEKS from today, Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 4:00pm EDT, a time that should work for all timezones. However, I trust you all to get your battles done as soon as possible by PMing you opponent and arranging something.
Feel free to post predictions/smack talk in this thread. Scores can be posted here also and/or pmed to me on the forums. Good luck to all participants, and FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY!
PS: Canada is STILL the best.
