13p Matrix 14 (No Multiball) Game Thread [GAME OVER]

Also duskfall/texas' interactions felt awkward, particularly duskfall being over the top with the memeing

I can't remember townTexas ever getting my alignment right so early into the game but I guess I'll reserve judgment on his alignment until I see him live to d3 !

?

The question asked of me was why I am scumreading heal at the time

If I answer, then heal stops that behavior and I no longer can use that tell to determine his alignment

One game I called Texas town on page 1 because he was drunk posting and I thought he’d take the game too seriously as scum to be able to drunk post. I was right. He was town. And I told him that was why I townread him

Next game, he starts drunkposting (not even sure if he was drunk). He was scum
You've played maybe three games with me, all of which I was town and one where I was contracted to just post dog gifs. please shush about knowing anything about me or my alignment because any such posts are clearly filler bruh. :eyes_rolling:

Hannah's posts are not making any sense to me at all. She comes in and plays a pure active town game on 451 and tries to come in here and claim because she played active town once that all of a sudden she's clear. The thing is I'm noticing a number of differences between her 451 game and this one. Idk wut my conclusions are, maybe it's just hal's presence but she seems to be more of sheeping than actually solving (her comments about me at the closest she gets to solving). Overall, her tone this game seems much more ?sarcastic? or laissez faire whereas in 451 she seemed to be a mix of confused but helpful. Sarcastic's maybe not the right word, idk hard to explain. Hannah's hitting me and Jalmont pretty hard, something that has a lot more confidence than her 451 active town game. Of course, I ultimately didn't have the best read on Hannah that game either, but bleh.

My main point here is that her 1 active town game shouldn't clear an active Hannah as auto town. I'm definitely not ready to die on a hill and don't want to push yet, just starting a few posts that each focus on a different person to response to the idk 7 pages I missed since last night.

While I obviously have to agree with a number of Jalmont's sentiments regarding a certain someone, I'm not sold yet on Jalmont's intentions and therefore his alignment. Is he town just getting mad at someone who plays a way that he doesn't think is healthy? Is he scum trying to discredit a playstyle that oddly a lot of people have worshiped for some time now? idk. I obviously know jalmont a lot more from survivor than mafia so I'm not sure his methods of trying to trick people, and from my experience playing with and and watching his survivor he is uh very direct and not good at tricking people and his general mood out of games seems to be pretty direct as well. And well, he's being direct here in the very little he's posted but he also doesn't seem to be actively scumhunting.

I'm also sad and mad that he didn't want to talk about his web shooting with me.

Hal, despite being hal, is playing exactly like the one game I actually played with him for more than a few days, and he was town then so. Might look at his past games later on if I have to, but I really don't feel like isoing past game hal on day 1 and I can take an educated guess on what I'd find anyway.

K, moving on to the next person.

Texas. So I think in that same game with hal that I mentioned above texas was also in it and he and hal fought like crazy a few days into the game. Texas shared some of that blunt energy that Jalmont has, but texas is actually active in the thread. He and hal don't appear to be fighting and they feel like they want to cooperate but they have just slightly different enough reads. They could be a divide and conquer scum team but like that also looks like such a scary good scum team that is a bit unfair and townies might as well just forfeit to their combined awesome sass.

Overall I don't have a lot of confidence in my reads against the direct-speaking players. Texas seems a bit less towny than hal, but I bet Texas actually has more game style variation than hal so I think I'd actually want to iso some of his past games before I get too in the weeds on him this game.

Also, grats man.

Brief intermission to just say I'm not really doing true alignment leans in any of these player analyses because I have more research to do to actually make those reads. My post on Hannah is prolly the most alignment feely one I'll do before I iso.

K, so now we're at m2h.

First and only game I've played with m2h was here on smogon and I was town and he was some sort of scum, can't remember if he was third party or actual mafia but I feel like it was third party. He seemed really innocent and cheerful and scumhunty on day 1, but at the end of they days his vote would suddenly change due to kinda flimsy reasons but he'd play it off with a ton of nervous/crying energy that would make players feel bad for him and be at least willing to trust him despite very much knowing the vote changes we weird af. His game definitely sufffered when those suspicions hit but well he's m2h and he cried his way out.

This game he's starting with a similar level of cheerfulness and uhh ?purity? but his fights with duskfall seem comparatively less substantive to his scumhunting attempts in the other game. But well if he was third party in that game then he truly was scumhunting while being scum himself so I'm not sure how that would translate to this game... Though this format does allow third party wolf so I think it's important for all of town to remember that just because someone looks like they are scumhunting it doesn't mean they aren't a wolf.

Overall m2h is being a bit more direct this game than last, it's still early. Hannah made some comments about after seeing m2h's face in vm that her perceptions of him changed and I have to completely agree with this sentiment. Overall the innocent, cheerful acting m2h has zero pulls on my heartstrings any more and looking forward I'm judging him purely on substance and 100% ignoring his tone.

K so taking a break from my player analyses, hit me up if you want to hear my thoughts on any player in particular that I haven't gotten to yet, or feel free to ask follow ups for the ones I did talk about.
