1st OU team.

Hi, I'm new to Competitive Battling so my team would surely have some major weakpoints and needs some adjustments. Thanks for taking the time to RMT. My team is focused on offense.

Team 2, with advice from smogon members! - Swampert, Magnezone, Salamence, Metagross, Heatran, Tyranitar

Swampert@Leftovers
252 HP / 216 Defense / 40 SpD
Impish
Torrent
Stealth Rock
Ice Punch
Roar
Earthquake

Lead, and SRer. Its also a Phazer. Earthquake and Ice Punch for coverage, and the latter is for getting rid of Gliscon leads, and Dragons that could set up on me...

magnezone.png

Magnezone@Life Orb
40 Att / 252 S.Att / 216 Speed
Naive
MagnetPull (Obviously)

Thunderbolt
HP Grass
Flash Cannon
Explosion

40 Att / 252 S.Att / 216 Speed @ Naive to outspeed Adamant Scizor. And only the 40 ATK EVs would give of Explosion extra damages, which it uses when its HP is low. The Explosion also maims alot of Pokemon. Thunderbolt for STAB, HP Grass for killing Perts, and Flash Cannon for STAB as well.

Salamence@Life Orb
Intimidate
Rash
80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe

Draco Meteor
Fire Blast
Brick Break
Roost

The classic MixMence, as suggested to me by Bulldogs. It decimates common members of stall, which as stated by Bulldogs, will give me trouble. Roost is for recovering from Tyranitar's Sandstorm.

Metagross@Life Orb
124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Spe
Adamant
Clear Body
Agility
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Ice Punch
Agiligross. EQ for Steelies. Physical Sweeper. Upon switching in, immediately do an Agility and sweep. Im not a fan of moves that have a chance of missing, however Salamence's Fire Blast has the same accurucy, so why not take the same gamble? Ice Punch instead of Thunder Punch since Magnezone can handle Gyarados. My Late-Game Sweeper.

suicune.png

Suicune@Leftovers
172 HP / 120 S.Att / 216 Speed
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]

Offensive Bulky Suicune. Come in, CM, then sweep. Hp Electric for Gyarados, as my team(This was originally Revenge Killer Heatran's spot) was ultra weak to Gyara. Originally ran a
Heatran@Choice Scarf / 4 HP/ 252 SpA / 252 Spe / Naive / Flash Fire
Flamethrower Earth Power Dragon Pulse Explosion / here.
tyranitar.png

Tyranitar@Choice Scarf

252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly
Sand Stream

Stone Edge
Crunch
Pursuit
Earthquake

Suggested to me by Bulldogs to replace Blissey. One of the Tyranitar sets that smogon suggest. Come in and sweep like nobody's business.

Stealth Rock
roar (i put this in over protect because i dont see the point for this and if your opponent cant immediately counter pert u can raor them around abit.
waterfall ( u definitely want this great coverage and allows him to do more than just sr lead.
Earthquake
The Stealth Rocker and lead. It sets up SR, then switch for another pokemon, if the lead is a problem to Swampert. However, if Swampert has a chance of fainting the lead, I'll take it. Ice Beam and EQ for coverage, and Protect for Fake Out and Explosion leads.
1r58j6.png

Zapdos@Life Orb
248 HP / 84 SpA / 176 Spe OR 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid
Pressure
Roost
HP Grass OR Ice / Fighting ( im big on hp grass for pert defense
Thunderbolt
Heat Wave
I currently am deciding which Zapdos to go for. First one is Bulky, latter is Offensive. Roost is for recovering... Thunderbolt for STAB, Heat Wave for Grass or Steels. HP Grass is for coverage, if I choose the bulky one. However, if I go for Offensive one, HP Ice would be for Latias, and Fightning for those tyrans, Tyranitar.
63vqx2.png

Salamence@Life Orb
Intimidate
232 Atk/252 Spd/24 SAtk
Naive ( i think u should definitely go with adamant or naughty or this
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Fire Blast
Outrage
Salamence is awesome. Its my Physical Sweeper in my team. Upon switching it, use Dragon Dance, then sweep. Fire Blast for Steels, Outrage for sweeping and EQ for coverage. Pretty standard.
2lka2ia.png

Metagross@Life Orb
124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Spe
Adamant
Clear Body
Agility
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Ice Punch
Agiligross. EQ for Steelies. Physical Sweeper. Upon switching in, immediately do an Agility and sweep. Im not a fan of moves that have a chance of missing, however Salamence's Fire Blast has the same accurucy, so why not take the same gamble? Ice Punch instead of Thunder Punch since Zappy and Starmie can handle Gyarados. My 2nd Sweeper.
mc6no3.png

Starmie@Leftovers
152 HP / 156 Defense / 200 Spe
Timid
Natural Cure
Recover
Rapid Spin
Surf
Thunderbolt
My spinner, and an "anti-spinner". Ice Beam for Donphans and Claydols. Thunderbolt for Tentacruels, fellow Starmies and Cloister. The only problem is Forrestress, which Zapdos's Heat Wave will take care of. Recover for recovering... Do I even need to tell you that?
6sxahi.png

Blissey@Leftovers
40 HP / 252 Def / 216 SpD
Calm
Natural Cure
Softboiled
Heal Bell
Seismic Toss
Toxic
The Cleric and Mixed Wall. Since I cant get a WishBliss, I go for Softboiled. Heal Bell for status problems, Seismic Toss for 100 dmg. Then, goes Toxic. The badly poisoned status problem is indeed something to be feared. It helps in walling certain sweepers.

Thanks for taking the time to RMT.

my addition in bold with my reasons why :)

i think if you want a bulky electric i would go with electrivire or rotom -H both of these pokemon have access to fire moves, and rotom H can rest/sleeptalk for healing

You could also go with a magnezone with Hidden power fire. This also gives you the ability to trap steels (scizor) and kill them.
Oh and waterfall is better than surf because Swampert is a better physical attacker. I would also change Swampert's nature to Careful or Impish so it does not lose valuable speed.

Ok I got your PM and saw that you were missing a revenge killer. So after thinking for a while I thought of some of the best revenge killers in the business they were Flygon, Scizor, Gengar, and Heatran. All of which are scarfed in Flygon, Gengar, and Heatran's case and Banded in Scizor's case. BTW I am taking into account the changes made by the rates above. So Flygon and Scizor were the Physical U-Turning beasts and Gengar and Heatran were the Special all out attacking beasts. After thinking for a while I threw away Gengar and Scizor (eh if you still want Scizor use it and you can find the Band set on the StrategyDex.)
For one of these Pokemon I think you should replace Starmie who seemed like it was doing ok but maybe was not pulling it's own weight (I was going to do Blissey but I don't think I can justify getting rid of the change to a Tyranitar) but you may correct me if I am wrong and Starmie is doing very well but then you are on your own for replacing a Pokemon on your team.
So here is the Flygon set

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Nature Naughty or Naive
evs 4 HP 252 SpA 252 Spe
moves
- Dragon Claw/Outrage
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower or your choice of special fire move.
- U-Turn
Ok Dragon Claw or Outrage, well outrage has a good bit more notable power but say goodbye to Flygon if you use it hence you can not switch out when you are on a rampage. Naughty or Naive if you want more speed or more power (BTW not Jolly or Adamant so you don't lower the power of your special fire move.) Special fire move because you want to take out the troublesome steel types which most have higher defense then Special Defense. U-Turn for scouting.

Now Heatran

Heatran @ Choice scarf
nature Naive
evs 4 HP 252 SpA 252 Spe
moves
- Flamethrower or Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse
- Explosion

Well this set is the Special Revenge killers of the two. Flamethrower for accuracy and fire blast for power. Though both provide a good STAB move and a good way to get rid of grass and steel Pokemon. Earth Power for coverage against electric types. Dragon Pulse for coverage against dragon types. Explosion for taking down a Pokemon with you.

Well you do not have to implement these changes. But I think they will help evolve your team and improve your team. I hope it helps and good luck.

Thanks for rating. I changed my team, heeding your advices.

PS: Do my team currently need a wall?

EDIT: I just noticed that all of my second Pokemon team with the exception of Salamence resists Tyranitar's Sandstorm lol.. Thats a nice bonus.

I am a new member to competitive battling. Here is my team from my Colosseum RPG (Gen 3), which is mostly focused on offense. Just comment and give any suggestions on my team's improvement or moveset

Octillery@Mystic Water
Sassy Nature
Suction Cups
- Ice Beam
- Octazooka
- Fire Blast
- Blizzard
My Special Sweeper; Ice Beam and Blizzard both knock out Salamence quickly. Octazooka will quickly defeat Tyranitar, thanks to Octillery's Mystic Water hold item as well as Tyranitar's low Special Defense. Finally, Fire Blast will be certain to KO Metagross because of Metagross's low Special Defense and weakness to Fire-type attacks.

Misdreavus@Spell Tag
Timid Nature
Levitate
- Attract
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Confuse Ray
My Special Sweeper; Misdreavus's Levitate ability negates Tyranitar's Earthquake. Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball for Starmie. Attract for Blissey. Confuse Ray to confuse Starmie.

Quagsire@Sitrus Berry
Quirky Nature
Water Absorb
- Rain Dance
- Earthquake
- Focus Punch
- Surf
My Special Sweeper and "Healer"; Quagsire's Water Absorb Ability restores Quagsire's Hp with any water attacks. Focus Punch for Onix and Tyranitar. Rain Dance to boost Surf's base power.

Metagross@Metal Coat
Adamant Nature
Clear Body
- Metal Claw
- Psychic
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
The powerhouse of my team. Metal Claw and Meteor Mash knocks out Tyranitar. Psychic destroys Crobat and Tentacruel. Earthquake destroys Steelix. Clear Body prevent's Metagross's stats from being reduced.

Umbreon@Dark Glasses
Brave Nature
Synchronize
- Helping Hand
- Moonlight
- Faint Attack
- Iron Tail
My Physical Waller; Iron Tail annihilates Tyranitar. Moonlight heals Umbreon's health. Faint Attack never misses. Umbreon is also fast. Helping Hand also is useful to help increase your teammate's move power.
