The Cinderace metagame seemed to be majorly enjoyable, but not particularly competitive, meaning the enjoyability may have been a result of the limited sample size taken. Nonetheless there is some thought about possible metagame action, but I won't divulge in that direction quite yet.

Out of the mons that people want to see Meloetta had two mentions, I'll be sure to include it in the poll for Cycle 3.

Opponent gave win on my wall, since this is the last week I've posted my thoughts on zard below.

I built 7 zard teams during this tour (3 today I couldnt use unfort), and I feel pretty comfortable in saying this guy isnt completely busted. I definitely think we need live tours or some other tour to further test zard, unfortunately not many ORAS players (or players in general) joined this tour, probably because of the timing with OGPL going on. Most of the other fires in the tier matchup very well into Zard and theres a lot of very good top tiers that match up well into it like lopunny, kyub, garchomp, and gren/gyara just to name a few. Having another fire that beats gengar and manaphy is really nice and refreshing, especially for gengar who is dominating the tier rn.

I think its very much worth noting that when zard-y was banned, many of the zard counters were pigeon holed into certain sets to try to beat both zards. Kyub and chomp no longer have to run haban for example, that has made them much more enjoyable/viable. Zard-X was a big counter to zard-y, but I still feel it's a net positive experience to not have to zard guess or run certain unoptimal sets to cover Zard.

oh boy how clear is it that this mon was banned only because of zardx's existence, and it really does show, while not super one-dimensional, zardy is usually a mon that you can expect what it does, which is hit fast and super hard, which a lot of pokemon do anyway, which like a lot of fire-types like specs volcanion and cb tini do anyway, which also happen to match up excellently against zard due to the shittiness of air slash.

it's a pretty notable mon, will probably end up as one of the better fires if unbanned, but i think is one that the ORAS council should definitely look into, idt there will be live tours so it'll probably end up being like ORAS council+some extra notable players, but i think a zardy unban would definitely shake things up for the metagame, be it for better or worse, that is something we've yet to see.

also gengar and mew are kinda existing aren't they hm.
