Spain smashed England, Belgium smashed Italy and France also smashed Germany.

My prayers and thoughts are with the victims of the bombing on Paris when the game between France and Germany was on the way. The bomb killed 35 people I heard, the terrorists also got 100 hostages, and shot 60 innocent people. The terrorists also threatened Germany's hotel so they were evacuated after the game, and all of the supporters were going to the pitch after the game. Because of the bombing, the match between France against England is pretty much cancelled from what I heard. #PrayForParis

yeah with basically all of europe and america on the verge of war, im guessing a meaningless game against england will be called off

Very poor from the authorities to allow the France - Germany game to go on when explosions were heard outside of the stadium even in the first half. Acccording to CNN, over 118 were killed although the police managed to rescue the 100 hostages.

As for England, well, each time they face a good team, they lose. Casillas literally has nothing to do the whole game (why is he starting ahead of the Super Great Goal Keeper De Gea?) . Kane and Barkley were pretty selfish, especially Kane who shoots when he can play Del Alli in for a tap-in.

that first spanish goal was unreal to be fair

Belgium didn't really "smash" Italy even if the 3-1 score line might indicate otherwise. Mignolet made a couple of huge saves and Eder also hit the crossbar when the score was still 1-1. Our experimental defense wasn't as sound as it usually is, but then again nobody really tested them during the qualifiers. Cavanda (from Trabzonspor) at RB was a disaster defensively and he'll probably not make the last 23, considering this was an exam of sorts for him. Carrasco, on the other hand, aced his test with a solid 2nd half performance and this great assist for Batshuayi. Talking about Batshuayi, he's making it pretty hard for Wilmost to pick strikers, especially after another poor game from Lukaku (seriously, Chielini outsped him when he could've been alone vs Buffon at the end of the first half). De Bruyne showed that he's the real leader of this team once again, whereas Hazard had another disappointing performance.

Overall, it was a pretty good performance that shows Belgium is the real deal imo. We controlled most of the match and dominated the second half against an experienced opponent. We're being more efficient overall and De Bruyne has turned our set pieces into dangerous scoring opportunities (which was a really big problem going into the WC). If we reassert this performance vs Spain on Tuesday, I think we're ready to take the next step in France next year.

I have to say I really really like the fact the England vs France friendly is going ahead. Obviously games in France have to be postponed for security reasons but I feel at times like these the best thing to do is not to react and the greatest show of strength is to show no fear and continue with business as usual. Excellent decision by the football authorities imo and I'm looking forward to a great game :)

An absolutely horrific turn of events in Paris, videos indicate that the explosion was quite audible, even from inside the stadium, with over a hundred killed as a result of this gruesome act executed by who else but the puppets operating under the mass delusion that is Islam. Refusing to let something like this hinder the fixture schedule may be a show of strength but appropriate security measures better be taken to avoid something even worse. And recent reports suggest that the suicide bomber was fifteen years old!? Wtf!?

there are reports that the suicide bomber had tickets to the game wasn't let in. Scary shit man

And Hodgeson strikes again! I absolutely cannot believe Lingard is in the England squad. He's played what, one and a half premier league matches? The man needs a reality check. Stop picking unproven youngsters from top 4 sides and pick genuine talents who have been playing an important role for their clubs. Look at Ireland, half the squad is in the Championship or lower yet they work well as a team and all of them are experienced and doing well at their clubs. Honestly the man has a problem, I can't believe we've got him for another 3 years? It's an absolute joke how bad he is.

A plethora of talent in the mid and lower table epl and championship but will almost never get selected unless they are top goalscorer in the epl. No wonder England struggle in the international game

Hodgson: " If you play for the top 8 clubs, you are world class. If you play for Manchester United, you are the next Messi. "

( tbf, this happened to most of England managers. )

so england won 2-0. I wonder if the ever optimistic england fans will actually read into this game and hype up their euro 2016 campaign or realize that every french players mind was somewhere else that evening

An amazing time to be a Leicester fan, and an amazing time to be Vardy. We finally managed to limp to a victory, scoring one and batting down the hatches immediately after like we had Bayern Munich coming at us. Three points is a step in the right direction but there's still loads of room to improve and loads of issues to fix.

Absolutely loved the way Liverpool look tonight. Not fluid but so dangerous in attack (helped by Mangala's bad defending and City's non-existent midfield). If not for Hart, Liverpool would have scored 8, 5 in the first half alone. Firmino is starting to prove his quality under someone who knows his strengths (Rodgers didn't).

Madrid - Barca match seemed to always end with a one-sided scoreline (except last season's 2-1). Barca again proved that Messi being injured was actually a blessing in disguise as it forced Suarez and Neymar to work as partners. Last season, the play between Neymar-Suarez was poor compared to their plays with Messi. Real were naive though. Fielding so many attacking players against Barca.
