the problem with that thinking though is that champions league matches have a certain amount of prestige to them because you don't see matches like that every weekend. it's a second leg knockout game with the quarterfinals on the line, players are going to be more urgent than if it were a weekly league fixture that could end in a draw with no issue. people watch the champions league not only because it's the best teams in the world against each other, but because each game is an event. if you make amazing games like that more common, they become less amazing imoIf you bring relegation out of the super league and force teams back into the domestic leagues for under performing then the super league isn't a bad idea.
