If you bring relegation out of the super league and force teams back into the domestic leagues for under performing then the super league isn't a bad idea. That Juventus Bayern round of 16 match, who wouldnt want to see a clash like that every weekend?
the problem with that thinking though is that champions league matches have a certain amount of prestige to them because you don't see matches like that every weekend. it's a second leg knockout game with the quarterfinals on the line, players are going to be more urgent than if it were a weekly league fixture that could end in a draw with no issue. people watch the champions league not only because it's the best teams in the world against each other, but because each game is an event. if you make amazing games like that more common, they become less amazing imo

the champions league is a special kind of competition, having a european super league seems boring and overly complex.

fair point, but you look to the weekend games where psg win the league 9-0 and 8 games remaining, bayern blow out bremen 5-0, Barca have almost run away with the league, and serie A wouldnt be as close as it is now if juve didnt start off the season so poor. Unfortunately there isnt a middle ground that I could think of but I am not getting paid to do that so we will be stuck speculating

We are in the last 8!!
United completely battered us in the first half. Thankfully, we had Coutinho score out of nowhere and that put the wind out of their sails.

Have to say that Martial totally skinned Clyne tonight. Going to develop into a star if coached correctly. Not under LvG though. You need to score 3 goals and you sub in 2 defenders and 1 midfielder? What were you thinking?

I believe Klopp can get the best out of our prospects in Can and Origi though as both played well. Sakho and Lovren looked pretty solid to me.

That Braga Fenerbahce game was lit, 3 dismissals for Fenerbahce/8 men left on the pitch at full time. I didn't watch the match but Fenerbahce were apparently displeased with the referee.

The match was 1-1 when the ref called a bullshit penalty and a red. I mean watch this, fuck

Fenerbahçe conceded the penalty and another goal right afterwards and at that point the players were pretty pissed off. The two other reds were correct (and unprofessional from the players part) but it was obvious the players were very frustrated.

Glad we played relatively well. Still so many disconnects on offense, and Giroud is so fucking bad lmao.

It doesn't matter to be honest, Leicester isn't losing anytime soon. It's a wrap. And even though when they win every other club also lose along with Arsenal. We will of course get the brunt of it, just because we are Arsenal.

Can't remember the last time Fabregas scored a free kick.....I suppose it was a decent performance considering the players have nothing to play for. Remember when nearly every publication claimed that the club had an informal understanding in place with Simeone that would see him take over next season? Well, they're now saying that Conte to Chelsea is a done deal. If there's any truth in that, Cuadrado might still have a future here.

Hart injury, defense getting schooled by the academy, Guardiola should charge extra for playing in the Europea league...

Wonder if they are gonna do anything special during the France vs. Holland match.

Also worthy:

Nigeria vs. Egypt
Brazil vs. Uruguay (way fucking early in my country but hey it's weekend so whatev)

Saudi Arabia headcoach has taught our team how to make pretty triangles and some needed discipline by kicking out two stars of our team out, so good job Bert van Marwijk. We may never reach the lofty heights of our 1994 debut, but we are going somewhere finally.

Nothing shocking from Asia last night except Korea almost lost to a no name team lol. If you are asking which Korea, it's not the best one.
