2017/18 (Soccer) Football Thread

Fwiw Richarlison's underlying stats are very good for a 21 year old, he consistently managed to get the ball in the box despite playing for a subpar team like Watford, he ended up scoring less than what one would expect but his shot distribution was great and if his finishing picks up he'll be a threat.

That being said the price tag is still more than it should, something around €30-40 million would be more accurate, though there are claims that part of the reason for the fee being so high is that Everton is compensating Watford for Marco Silva (apparently, Everton want to prevent Watford from suing them)
I still think anything from 30m to 40m is overpaying for Richarlison. At the end, he's still Silva pet player and he only performed under him. Everton is still a bad managed club when they are still trying to sell Lookman for less than 25M.

Liverpool is out there trying to sell Ings for 20M and Origi for 27M. Hyped for the season. Hope this can be a better season for us, Liverpool fans.

People with Amazon Prime subscriptions or willing to use certain other websites should most definitely check out the new documentary around City's 17/18 season. While not exactly a Ron Fricke feature, it's still a comprehensive insight into a historic season of a top-level club along with all the dynamic elements and people involved in it. Surefire recommendation for nerdy fans who like to watch the strands come together.
